A = 2-Chloräthanphosphonsäure
B = Chlorcholinchlorid
C = 2, 3-Dichlor-2-äthylhexanal

The active compounds according to the invention can be prepared by known processes: 2, 3-dichloro- 2-ethylhexanal is accessible by chlorination of 2-ethylhexanal; 2-Chloro-2-ethylhexanoic acid is accessible by catalytic chlorination of 2-ethylhexanoic acid in the presence of phosphorus trichloride and subsequent hydrolysis; Finally, the 2,3-dichloro-2-ethylhexanoic acid can be obtained by air oxidation of 2-ethylhexanal to 2-ethylhexanoic acid and subsequent chlorination.
It was surprisingly found that with the combinations according to the invention, the period of use for cereals can be significantly extended, in the extreme case from the 5-leaf stage of the cereal plants to the development stage 10 on the FEEKES scale. Furthermore, the combinations have the advantage that in order to achieve a comparable and better effect of previously used preparations, a significantly lower total active ingredient expenditure is required.
This reduces the application rate, in particular of chlorcholine chloride, to a minimum for human toxicological considerations. The decisive factor for the intended effect are the amount of active substance applied and the stage of development of the grain at the time of use.
The agents according to the invention are expediently used in the preparation and application forms customary for agents for biological process control, such as solutions, emulsions, concentrates, which are prepared with the addition of liquid carriers or diluents, usually with the addition of surface-active substances and other formulation auxiliaries, and diluted with water for use can be.
The application forms depend on the intended use. In any case, you have to ensure a fine distribution of the active substances. The preparations are prepared in a manner known per se by mixing processes.
Depending on the intended use, the agents according to the invention are used in amounts of active ingredient of 0.3 to 1.5 kg AS / ha.
The following examples are intended to explain the effect of the agents according to the invention in more detail.
In Tables I to XIII:
A = 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid
B = chlorcholine chloride
C = 2,3-dichloro-2-ethylhexanal

2-Chloro-2-ethylhexanoic acid Example 1
Influencing the length and mass growth of barley and wheat by the agents according to the invention
Summer wheat plants of the "Hatri" variety and summer barley plants of the "Trumpf" variety with 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid (A), 2, 3-dichloro-2-ethylhexanal (C), 2-chloro - 2-ethylhexanoic acid (D) and Combinations of these active ingredients are treated. The application was carried out in the 2-leaf stage by immersing the leaf blades in the test solution.
The addition of wetting agents is essential to ensure appropriate absorption of the active ingredient. The evaluation takes place 4 weeks after the start of germination. The green mass in relation to the untreated control and the distance between the 1st and 2nd leaf blade are determined.
As can be seen from Tables I to III, the combinations according to the invention (A + C, A + D) can achieve a measurable increase in green mass formation and, at the same time, a strong reduction in length growth compared to the individual components.
The Colby method is used to investigate the combination effect of the individual components:

As the values in Table IV show, the increase in activity of the combination of 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid plus dichloroethylhexanal compared to the individual components can clearly be reduced to a synergistic effect. Because according to Colby there is a synergism

Example 2
Straw-shortening and straw-stabilizing properties of the agents according to the invention
The combinations consisting of 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid (A), chlorcholine chloride (B) and dichloroethylhexanal (C) or 2,3-dichloro-2-ethylhexanoic acid (E) are in 5 small plot trials on the crops winter barley, winter rye, winter wheat, summer barley and oats as well as in 18 exact plot tests on the winter barley, winter rye and winter wheat crops.
The size of the small parcels was 5 m2, that of the plots 25 m2 (with 4 repetitions).
Applied in the development stages 5 and 7 of the grain according to the FEEKES scale (Fe 5 and 7) with active ingredient application rates between 0, 5 ... 2, 0 kg / ha. The experiment was evaluated using an analysis of variance.
As the results in the tables show, the agents according to the invention are particularly distinguished from the conventional standards in that they produce very good straw-compressing effects even in the early development stage Fe 5 and also with a greatly reduced amount of active ingredient. In stage Fe 7, for example, the amount of active ingredient applied can be reduced to 0.5 kg / ha in order to achieve adequate straw stabilization.
This saves around 1.0 kg / ha of active ingredient compared to standard products.
Experience has shown that combinations with 2-chlorocholine chloride are particularly suitable for winter wheat, preferably in a mixing ratio of 6: 3: 1 (A + B + C), while combinations with 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid, preferably in a mixing ratio of 9: 1 (for winter barley and winter rye) A + C).
Example 3
Effect of the agents according to the invention on the yield
The agents according to the invention, consisting of 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid, dichloroethylhexanal and chlorcholine chloride, were tested for their yield-influencing effect on cereals by the test methodology shown in Example 2. All test results shown are based on 86% dry matter.
When using the agents according to the invention, a mostly statistically assured increase in yield compared to the untreated control was detectable in all experiments. This also applies if no differentiated inclination was found between untreated and treated plots.
Compared to the standard products, with significantly reduced amounts of active ingredient per unit area, clearly measurable additional yields were also achieved. While, for example, for long-straw wheat varieties (eg "Mironowskaja 808"), the use of 2 kg / ha of chlorcholine chloride or 2 kg / ha of the combination of 2-chloroethanephosphonic acid and chlorcholine chloride (2: 3) is necessary for optimal straw and yield stabilization are, in order to achieve comparable effects with the agents according to the invention, a total active ingredient expenditure of 0.5 kg / ha is already sufficient due to the synergistic effect.
