Process for producing an iron-on and washable satin finish (high gloss)
Fabrics made entirely or in part from animal fibers.

The process of so-called Krappens piece goods, which is made using animal fibers, takes place, as is well known, in open containers with two adjustable rollers arranged one above the other, by moving the work goods under the action of boiling water with or without the addition of chemicals with tight tension on the lower roller, under load on the upper one.

Tests have now shown that of the work factors mentioned, heat is the most important. and that the fiber, if one works according to the known method, is not sufficiently susceptible to the smoothing action of the pressure rollers. and that, as a result, the finish obtained is not iron-proof and washable.

This deficiency is now to be remedied according to the present method by increasing the malleability of the woolen hair. whereby the smoothing effect of the

The work material located on the collec e is pulled through the hot liquid via the guide rollers ¯ and ¯1 and runs under tight tension onto the lower roller ti under load of the upper roller h, and finally guided between the rollers @ and k and to be rolled up on the latter.
