State variables, such as load, engine speed, pressure and temperature of the combustion air, etc., works, with the spring-loaded end face of the control member and in which the
Spring-receiving space during the filling and during the injection time, the inflow pressure (pre-pressure) of the pump acts, from the end loaded by the spring and the spring-receiving space a bore in the control member, a throttle is provided in the control member and during the suction stroke of the pump piston , in which the solenoid valve is open, the control member is in the end position adjacent to the solenoid valve and during the
Injection process in which the solenoid valve is closed is in the other end position.
A fuel injection pump of the type mentioned is known from DE-OS 2742466.
The pump described therein uses the fuel flowing in from the high-pressure pump to displace the control member, which must first pass through a throttle bore in the control member until it can act on the surface of the control member opposite the valve cone. However, this results in a relatively slow pressure build-up in the pressure chamber. This is necessary to
To prevent damage to the conical valve seat of the control element, which would inevitably occur if the valve seat suddenly hit. So it's a quick one
It is not possible to adapt the fuel injection to the various state variables of the internal combustion engine, which would require a sudden reversal of the control member. Damage to the valve seat should also be prevented.
In the fuel injection pump known from DE-OS 2328563 a slider is provided, but this is adjusted directly by a solenoid. However, the direct control of the slide by the solenoid makes it necessary to dimension the latter particularly vigorously and, moreover, to save mass on the slide if necessary, which entails certain design problems, especially since the slide body has to be largely made of steel due to the solenoid .
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of the known pumps and to create a fuel injection pump of the type outlined at the outset which enables the injection quantity and the injection timing to be rapidly adapted to the various state variables of the internal combustion engine, the stress on sealing surfaces or sealing seats should be kept as low as possible.
This object is achieved in that the control member is designed in a manner known per se as a slide and that the slide has an annular circumferential groove which is connected via a transverse bore and via the bore in the slide to the space receiving the spring and which in the Injection position of the slide is covered by the pump housing and is separated from the pump work space, but is connected to it when filling the pump work space, a throttle element being provided in one of the bores in the slide.
According to the invention, the reversing of the slide takes place abruptly, which enables a substantially better adaptation of the fuel injection to the various state variables of the internal combustion engine. In addition, the service life of the injection pump is extended, since in one end position the slide body with a large stop surface rests on the associated surface of the slide housing. The electric solenoid valve can take into account all influencing variables for the amount of fuel that is injected in any combination,

The pump piston --8-- is actuated in a manner not shown via a cam acting at its upper end --9--, the upper end --9-- via washers --10, 11-- by a spring - -12-- is biased.
To control the amount of fuel delivered by the pump piston, a slide --13-- is slidably mounted in the pump housing --1-- transversely to the piston axis --14--. Its left end face --15-- in Fig. 1 is loaded by the coil spring --16--, which is supported on the pump housing --1--. The spool --13-- has a circumferential groove --17--, which is in flow connection via a transverse bore --18-- with an axial bore --19--. The space --20--, in which the coil spring --16-- is located, is on the one hand
EMI3.1
--21-- and bores --29 and 30-- are connected on the one hand to the inlet pressure (pre-pressure) of the injection pump and on the other hand via the connection channel --31-- to the pump pressure chamber --32--.
The two bores --29 and 30-- can be connected via the annular space --33-- and the solenoid valve --34-- located therein. The electrical part of the solenoid valve --34-- is housed in the housing --35-- and designed in a manner known per se and therefore not shown in the drawings.
The diameter of the spool --13-- is smaller than that of the pump piston --8--, so that regardless of the position of the spool --13-- fuel can get to the check valve --36-- which due to the --3-- supporting pressure spring on the plate --37-- is loaded. An annular groove --39-- is provided in the check valve --36-- just above the valve plate --38-into which the axial hole --40-- intended for the passage of the fuel opens. The check valve --36-- opens into the annular space --41--, which has a groove --42-- and a hole --43-- in the plate --3-- with a supply hole - 44-- is connected in the nozzle body --2--.
The supply hole --44-- opens on the side opposite the plate --3-- into an annular space --45-- formed between the nozzle body --2-- and the nozzle pin --6-- by turning the nozzle pin. The nozzle pin --6-- has a transverse bore --46-- in the area of the annular space --45--, which is connected to an axial bore --47--, which is on the opposite side of the transverse bore at the front end --48-- of the nozzle pin --6-- opens into a pressure chamber --49-- in the nozzle body --2--.
At the bottom --50-- of the pressure chamber --49-- an annular sealing surface --51-- is provided, which with a corresponding sealing surface --52-- at the front end --48-- of the nozzle pin --6-- interacts and divides the pressure chamber --49-- into two sealed areas when the nozzle pin --6-- is seated.
Following the pressure chamber --49-- a ground cylinder surface --54-- is provided up to a height of --53-- in the bore --5-- of the nozzle body --2--, from which the nozzle bores - 55-- go out and the sealing interacts with a sealed part --54 '- of the nozzle pin --6--. At the lower end of the sealed part --54 '- a control edge --56-- is formed which, when the nozzle pin --6-- moves axially, grinds over the opening cross sections --57-- of the nozzle bores --55--.
The axial movement of the nozzle pin --6-- and thus the control edge --56-- relative to the nozzle body --2-- and thus the opening cross sections --57-- is determined on the one hand by the axial bore --47-- under pressure to the pressure chamber --49-- fuel supplied and on the other hand by the respective force of a spring 37 '-' contained in the annular chamber --27-- and loading the nozzle pin. This spring --37 '- is secured against evasion by a pin --58-- on the nozzle pin --6--. The annular space --27-- is via the groove --26--, the hole --25-- in the plate --3-- and the other holes --24 and 21- with the suction line --23-- connected, which is a simple ventilation or
Leakage fuel can be removed from the annulus --27--.

Characteristics of the spring --37 '-, an axial displacement of the nozzle pin --6-- and thus the control edge --56--, whereby at least part of the area of the opening cross sections --57-- of the nozzle bores --55-- is released and the fuel escapes from the nozzle bores --55--.
The control of the injected fuel quantity is explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. 2 to 4. 2 and 3 show the position of the control parts at the end of the suction stroke of the pump piston --8--, with this pump piston the annular groove --22-- and thus the connection of the
Enables fuel supply line --23-- with the pump pressure chamber --32-- and the connection with holes - 21 and 24-- remains intact. The left end face --15-- of the spool --13-- is thus also connected to the fuel supply pressure, as is the right end face --28-- of the spool --13-- via the connection channel --31-- and Ring groove --62-- as well as through the holes --29 and 30--, because the solenoid valve --34-- is opened by a pressure spring (not shown) that acts in the opening direction when the electrical current is switched off.
According to the force of the coil spring --16 - the slide --13-- is in its end position on the right in Fig. 2, whereby the circumferential groove --17-- is located in the area of the pump pressure chamber --32-- and via cross holes - -18-- and the axial bore --19-is also connected to the pump flow. The check valve --36-- is closed by the spring - 37-- (Fig. L).
At the start of fuel injection, the solenoid valve --34-- is switched on and closed. The fuel pushed from the downward moving pump piston --8-- into the pressure chamber --32-- can now flow through the bore --18, 19, 21-- into the ring groove --22-- and thus the fuel supply line - 23-- drain.
The annular groove --22-- is separated and sealed by a control edge --65-- of the pump piston --8-- in front of the pump pressure chamber --32--.
A throttle body --66-- in the bore --19-- causes the outflowing fuel to create a higher pressure in the pump pressure chamber --32-- than in the room --20--. This higher pressure can propagate into the room --62-- via the connecting channel --31--.
In this way, such pressure builds up on the right front side --28-- of the slide --13-- very quickly that the slide --13-- suddenly --16-suddenly into the left end position against the force of the spring is displaced, the shoulder --59-- of the slide - forming the stop, as shown in FIG. 4. The peripheral groove --17-- is located on the left outside of the pump pressure chamber --32-- and is closed off by the pump housing -l-opposite the pump pressure chamber --32--. The one from the pump piston --8--

into the room --61-- above the check valve --36--, whereby the latter is opened while overcoming the force of the spring --37--.
The fuel then flows through the axial bore --40 and the transverse bore --40 '- into the annular space --41--, from where it reaches the nozzle bores --55-- via the path already described. The left end face --15-- of the spool --13-- is therefore constantly subjected to the inflow pressure of the pump, whereas the right end face --28-- of the spool is under high pump pressure during injection.
The injection can be started or stopped at any time during the delivery stroke of the pump plunger --8-- by closing or opening the solenoid valve --34--, because the solenoid valve detects the pressure in the pump pressure chamber --32-- or on the right front side --28-- of the slide --13-- and thus its position is checked. It is thus possible to influence the injection law via the control of the solenoid valve, e.g. For example, the start of delivery or the end of delivery can be kept constant for all loads, or both the start and end of delivery can be changed by the solenoid valve. In this respect, the invention thus also enables the fuel injection quantity to be largely adapted to the requirements of engine operation.
