Abstract
In a rotary tubular kiln 1 which is directly heated, by replacing some of the combustion air, in particular some of the excess combustion air, the flue-gas composition is influenced by the outflowing flue gas in such a way that the proportion emitting the heat radiation, such as, for example, the CO2 and H2O proportion, is increased. This measure results in a reduction in the length of the rotary tubular kiln 1 and in a reduction in the fuel demand. The additional constructional outlay is small and is restricted to a feed line 3 to a mixing chamber 4 in which the recycled flue gas is intermixed with the air heated in the cooler 5 for the hot kiln material upstream of the direct heating device 6. <IMAGE>

taken from line --10-- after the dedusting device --2-- via the branch line --3-- and fed to the mixing chamber --4-- between the cooler --5-- and the heating device. The partial flue gas recirculation increases the CO2 and H 2 O content of the flue gas in the rotary kiln. Since these gases have a high gas radiation, the heating of the rotary kiln is improved --1--, so that it can be built shorter.
But since at the same time the recirculated flue gas reduces the air volume --7-- heats
EMI2.1
arithmetical improvement of the radiating components of the CO 2 content of the flue gas.
If no flue gas is recirculated and, for example, natural gas is heated in the heating device, the flue gas contains about 12% CO, 11% HO, 67% N 2 and 10% 02 '. The oxygen content is calculated from the excess air, which is caused by the maximum inlet temperature of the flue gases the rotary kiln --1-- is specified. The increase in the C02 content due to the splitting of MOCO to MgO in the rotary kiln is already taken into account in the C02 content. If 45% of the air
EMI2.2
hold to 23% and the water vapor content to 21%, while the N2 content drops to 56%. Naturally, there can then be no more 0 content in the flue gas.
Fuel consumption will decrease by about 10% in the first case and by 22% in the second case. Since the radiant components of the flue gas increase from 23 to 29 or 44%, the length of the rotary kiln can theoretically be reduced by 29 or 44%. As already mentioned, these values are very fuel-dependent and of a theoretical nature, whereby the material to be treated must also be taken into account. In practice, 45 to 50% of the excess air is replaced by hot exhaust gas, which means that a significant improvement over the known prior art has already been achieved.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Method for increasing the CO., - and H., 0 content of the flue gas and the heat transfer between the flame or the hot flue gas and the material to be treated as a result of radiation in a directly heated rotary kiln with heat recovery from the heated material and with dedusting of the outflowing hot flue gas stream, characterized in that a portion of the hot flue gas stream is branched off after its dedusting and mixed with the heated combustion air and that this flue gas / air mixture is then fed to the rotary kiln as an oxygen carrier for complete combustion of the fuel for heating,
wherein preferably when controlling the heating of the rotary kiln, the branched-off portion of the flue gas to increase the flue gas temperature at the entrance to the rotary kiln is increased at the expense of the amount of combustion air, in particular the excess air and the required fuel.
2. Directly heated rotary kiln system with a device for dedusting the flue gas stream flowing out of the rotary kiln and branching off a part of the flue gas stream flowing out of the rotary kiln and an air preheater for carrying out the method
