<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

The invention relates to a connection valve for switching a high-pressure medium into a system pressurized with low pressure, in particular for switching high-pressure water into a container filled with low-pressure water for testing containers, with a piston which can be displaced in a housing and acted on on both sides.
5 With hydraulic or pneumatic tools, it is often necessary to supply a low pressure system with a much higher pressure at a certain point in time - usually when a certain system pressure is reached.
For example, in pressure testing machines for container pressure testing, the container is first filled with water under low pressure as quickly as possible and then with under high pressure! pressurized water until the test pressure is reached. In systems of this type, it is known to connect the high-pressure water pneumatically, with an overflow float switch switching valves in or out after filling the container. switches off. This pneumatic circuit can also due to the increasing low pressure towards the end of the filling of the
Be operated container.
'Hydraulic (mostly oil-hydraulic) valves are also known for this purpose, but their effort, especially for maintenance, is considerable. Since such valves are acted upon by spring pressure, the connection of the high pressure water depends on the size of the pressure in the low pressure system. If the pressure in the low pressure system is not constant, it can occur in the
Switching on the high pressure water leads to faults that are difficult to remedy.

described above is disadvantageous.
The invention aims at avoiding these disadvantages and difficulties and has as its object to create a connecting valve of the type described at the outset, which does not require any springs for its control and which can be easily and safely replaced by a safe device
Functionality and easy maintenance distinguish.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the piston front and rear surfaces of the piston are connected by a connecting line having a throttle and a check valve, in that a low-pressure line opens into the space of the housing facing the piston rear surface of the piston, and in the a pressure line connected to the low-pressure line via the check valve and the throttle and a high-pressure line open into the front surface of the piston, the high-pressure line being closable by a closure device which is arranged on the front surface of the piston.
According to a preferred embodiment, in particular a ball is let into the front surface of the piston and can be pressed against a valve seat of the high-pressure line.
A particularly simple design is characterized in that the front and rear surfaces of the piston are of the same size.
The high-pressure line opening into the space preferably has a smaller cross-section than the pressure line also opening into this space.
The invention is explained in more detail below using an exemplary embodiment, wherein
Fig. L is a schematically illustrated circuit for connecting a high pressure medium in a
Low pressure system for a container pressure testing machine shows. Fig. 2 illustrates a section through a connecting valve, as shown in Fig. 1, on an enlarged scale.
A pressure line --2-- opens into the container-l to be tested, which is fed by a low-pressure system --3-- while the container-l-is being filled. A pressure system --5-- can be connected to the pressure line --2-- with the interposition of a cut-in valve --4-- via the high pressure line --6-- and the pressure line --7--. The
Low pressure is about 5 bar, high pressure about 30 bar. The connecting valve --4-- has a piston --10-- which is axially displaceable in a housing --8-- and equipped with sealing lips --9--, whereby the piston surfaces --11 or 12-- are the same size.
The high pressure medium, in this case water, is --13-- in via a valve seat
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
to the space --14-- facing the front surface --11-- of the piston --10--. The valve seat --13-- can be closed by a ball embedded in the front surface of the piston --10--. When this valve seat is open, the high pressure water flows over the
Pressure lines --6, 7-- into the line --1-- leading into the tank --1--.
A low-pressure line connected to the low-pressure system --3-- opens into the space --16-- towards the rear surface --12-- of the piston --10-- of the connecting valve --4-- -. Between the branch --18-- of this low pressure line --17-- and the junction --19-- of the pressure line --7-- into the line --2-- leading to the tank --1-- Check valve --20-- provided, which opens in the direction of flow to the tank-l-.
A throttle --21-- is then arranged in line --2-- in front of the junction --19--.
A three-way tap --22-- is also installed in the line leading to the tank, through which a drain line --23-- for the water can be connected to the line --2-- leading to the tank.
The function of the sequence valve is as follows:
First, the container is filled with water from the low pressure system --3--. The piston --10-- is in the lower position, i.e. H. the valve seat --13-- is through the
Ball --15-- closed. This happens because the piston rear surface --12-- over the
Line --17-- is pressurized with low pressure water. The front surface --11-- of the piston --10-- is only a small part, namely a surface part --24-- corresponding to the valve seat --13--, with water from the high pressure system --5-- acted upon.
The rest of the front surface --11-- of the piston --10-- is acted upon by the low pressure system --3--, whereby the pressure of the low pressure system --3-- however by the force of the check valve --20-- and due to the throttle --21-- is lower than the low pressure acting on the rear surface --12-- of the piston --10--. The pressure difference is approximately 0.3 to 0.4 bar.
The piston surfaces - 11, 12 and 24-- are designed so that the pressure difference due to the
Restrictor --21-- when water flows from the low pressure system --3-- into the tank --1-- is greater than the force exerted on the high pressure side on the surface part --24-- of the piston surface --11- - works. As a result, the high-pressure medium remains blocked as long as there is this pressure difference between the front surface --11-- and rear surface --12-- of the piston, i. H. as long as the water flows through the throttle --21--. Due to the check valve, the pressure on the piston rear surface is --12-- - etc. regardless of the differential pressure of the throttle --21-- - still larger by the amount of pressure loss due to the spring-loaded check valve --20--.
This additional pressure caused by the check valve --20-- is used as the restoring force for the piston --10-- instead of a spring, which offers the following advantage: With several filling points, e.g. B. in circular carousel test systems for pressure vessels, the vessels are continuously pressurized with water from the low pressure system --3--, whereby the low pressure size varies, whereas the high pressure - due to the short filling time required - and filling quantity per container can be regarded as constant. If a spring were installed to generate a restoring force, it could happen that this would prevent the high-pressure part from opening (with maximum low-pressure extraction).
The check valve pressure, on the other hand, results in a constant differential pressure regardless of the actual size of the low pressure.
As soon as the container is filled, the flow valve --25-- at the container opening closes, which allows air to escape from the container-l-. This reduces the flow and the pressure difference caused by the throttle towards zero, so that only the differential pressure due to the spring-loaded check valve --20-- on the piston rear surface --12--, which is designed to be smaller than that on the surface part --24- - the piston front surface --11-- high pressure. This causes the piston --10-- to move from the lower position shown in Fig. 2 to the upper position, the valve seat --13-- is released, and the high-pressure water flows through the pressure line --7-- into the tank -l-leading pressure line --2--.
At the same time, the check valve --20-- closes to the low pressure system --3--. The connection valve --4-- remains due to the low pressure on the piston return
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Surface --12-- is opened until a flow occurs again via the throttle --21-- and the pressure in the space --14-- facing the piston front surface --14-- can relax into the low-pressure line.
As a result of the high absorption capacity of the low-pressure system, the very small amount of water flowing in via the high-pressure line is not sufficient to pressurize the piston front surface, primarily because the cross-section of the line --7-- that flows into the room --14- - opens, which faces the front surface --11-- of the piston, is dimensioned larger than the cross section of the high-pressure supply line --6-- at the confluence with this space, i.e. H. is dimensioned larger than the surface part --24--.
