Knife in the manner described later shortly before the end of the downward movement the needle lowers, adjacent to the incision surface 18 immediately behind the needle to the cut (Fig. 3 and 6) and thus etzeugt a part of the buttonhole incision, which is immediately lined by the needle becomes.
The knife bar 14 is carried along by the needle bar 4 by a nose 19 which is firmly seated on the upper end of the needle bar protruding from the machine head and which, during the external stitch, pushes the knife bar downwards and makes the knife cut (Fig. 3), while the nose 19 slides past the upper end of the knife bar during the inner stitch and therefore leaves the knife in an ineffective high position (Fig. 2). The upward movement of the knife rod takes place automatically through the action of a helical spring 20 which is pushed onto a rod 21 connected to the knife head 13.
This cutting device can of course also be adapted to buttonhole sewing machines for straight holes.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Cutting device for buttonhole sewing machines with stitch by stitch working knife, characterized in that the knife (12) attached to a knife head (13) movably in its plane is pressed resiliently against the needle head (16) provided with an incision (17) so that it is at the incision during the outer stitch of the needle (11). surface (18) adjacent and at the same time lowering with the needle arrives at the cut, during the interior. stitch but adjacent to the outer surface of the needle head is pushed aside by the lowering needle head to make room for the needle.
