The invention relates to a grist mill for crops, in particular moist cereals, for. B. corn on the cob, wet corn or cereals, with a housing and one in this
Distance from the housing wall arranged to a circular arc, which surrounds a working space, which has a feed opening for the ground material to be shredded and in which rotates a rotor attached to a drive shaft, which at its ends with, preferably over the
Distributed sieve width, grinding tools, e.g. B.
Hammering, blow bars, knives or the like provided
Has arms, which grinding tools end at a distance from the inner wall of the sieve, the distance between the sieve and the housing wall forming a channel through which the crushed ground material that has passed through the sieve, optionally with the aid of blower blades rotating in this channel and fastened to the drive shaft, is fed to an outlet.
In practical operation of such grist mills, it has been shown that, in particular when processing moist material, e.g. B. of corn on the cob along with the lieschen, in addition to mealy
Mass also form fibrous components of the regrind. Since these fibers are mostly very tough, they are pushed through the screen openings by the rotor or its grinding tools, but they bend outside around the webs between the screen openings, so that the screen openings grow in a short time. Studies have shown that this effect is brought about by the influence of the rotor alone and is increased even more by the fact that the fibers are passed over to the outer wall of the sieve by passing blower blades.
If the sieve openings are largely blocked in this way, the power requirement of the grist mill increases sharply, because the crushed ground material can only be removed with great force
Press the screen openings through. It has been shown that these difficulties cannot be eliminated even then. if the distance between the outer screen wall and the fan blades is as small as possible. Sieves made of rubber, rubber-like materials or plastics can be used to clean the screen, but are subject to such
Wipers due to the high speed of circulation and the high tenacity of the fibers of rapid wear even when the most abrasion-resistant material is used for the wipers.
The invention has set itself the task of eliminating these disadvantages and creating a constantly effective screen cleaning that is not subject to wear. The invention solves this problem by providing, in the channel along the outer screen wall at a distance from it, preferably circumferential, channel-shaped cleaning elements, the cavity of which faces the screen. Surprisingly, it has been shown that effective cleaning of the sieve can be achieved with such channel-shaped cleaning elements. Although the cavities of the trough-shaped cleaning elements are filled to the brim in a very short time by the crushed regrind particles that have passed through the sieve openings, the material collected then grinds along the outer sieve wall in intimate contact.
This abrasive effect continuously removes the fibrous components that have settled on the edges of the sieve opening, thereby eliminating blockages in the sieve. So while in the known scrapers a stripper material that is foreign to the ground material to be ground is used, in the subject matter of the invention the stripping material is formed by the ground material itself, so that the friction has an effect on the ground material itself and thereby an effective comminution of the ground material and, above all, a stripping of the fibrous material Components caused by the outer surface of the screen jacket.
It would be possible to arrange the channel-shaped cleaning elements at an angle to the drive shaft direction, as along a helical path, along the outer shell of the sieve. In the context of the invention, however, it is structurally more favorable to choose the longitudinal direction of the channel-shaped cleaning elements running parallel to the drive shaft, the channel-shaped cleaning elements preferably extending over the entire screen width in order to make the cleaning action effective on the entire screen.
Gutter-shaped cleaning elements with an arc-shaped cross section are particularly favorable, since half-tubes can be used in this way, or with an L-shaped cross section, for which commercially available L-profile pieces can be used.
In principle, the trough-shaped cleaning elements could also move back and forth along the outer wall of the screen, but a circumferential movement is more favorable.

exerting regrind, whereby the latter is rubbed off and the openings --28 - are continuously cleared again.
It would also be possible to arrange the cleaning elements --26-- on a separate rotor disk, not shown, attached to the drive shaft - 20--. The cleaning elements - can also serve to compensate for any existing imbalances in the rotating system.
