The amount of Glauber's salt that has to be added depends on the composition of the waste liquor, i.e. the lime and magnesia content; As a rule, 2 kg of dried Glauber's salt per 1 hectolitre of waste liquor is sufficient. When this solution is heated, a precipitate usually arises, which usually dissolves again when it is cold.

The order in which the individual constituents are added can also be done in a different order, but the one specified has proven to be the best.

In this process, the glue precipitates give the paper a slight darker coloration. It has now been found that the formation of the darker, coloration can be largely prevented or. can be eliminated if the resin glue or tanning glue and usually also the waste liquor are mixed with metallic zinc, preferably in the form of fine zinc metal powder, in very small amounts, e.g. 0.050/0 of the body. A! s Zinc powder can also be used with commercially available zinc dust.

It is advisable to add very small amounts of soda to the waste liquor from the sulphite pulp factory in a known way during evaporation until it reacts almost neutral in order to prevent the sulphurous acid from escaping. A larger amount of soda in the waste liquor has a disadvantageous effect by producing a browning in the same that is difficult to remove.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
 EMI2.1

   1. A process for the production of paper glue (Gerbleim), characterized in that sulphite waste liquor, which contains Glauber's salt to render the lime harmless, is mixed with a solution of resin and horn, which is expediently made by dissolving horn and resin in soda or horn in with excess soda-derived resin glue is produced below 1000.

Claims (1)

2. An embodiment of the method according to claim 1, characterized in that zinc, preferably in the form of fine zinc metal powder, is added to the solutions of the starting materials, namely the resin glue, the sulphite waste liquor and the tanning agent, for the purpose of achieving a lighter color respectively to keep the bright coloring.
