To move the lever 40 by means of a key on the outside of the door or by means of a handle located on the inside of the door, a toothed segment 48 is provided which is carried by a sleeve 49 through which an opening of angular cross-section for receiving the correspondingly shaped, the Handle 51 on the inside of the door-carrying shaft 50 passes. 111 at an angle of about 90 to the toothed segment, the sleeve 49 has an arm 52 for moving the attachment 46. The teeth of the toothed segment 48 engage the teeth 63 of the key 54 (FIG. 13) when this is inserted into the opening 55. This key has a cylindrical part for receiving the fixed pin 56.
The teeth of the key and the tooth segment can have an arbitrary pitch, which can show a different arrangement for each lock, so that only the associated lock can be opened with the help of a specific key. Inserting the key

(Fig. S), because only in this position does the toothing of the key fit into the toothed segment 48.
If the key is turned counterclockwise in the position of the parts shown in FIG. 4, the arm 52 is turned upwards. This causes the lever 46 to threaten the pin 36 as a pivot, so that the shoulder 42 comes to lie in the incision 31 and thereby prevents the latch 12 from moving inward.
While the parts are in this position, the bolt 32 can be withdrawn by turning one of the handles 26, 27. In this case, the projection 93 on the locking arm 44 lies against the shoulder 43. If the tumblers are brought into the locking position shown in FIG. 4 with the bolt 32 withdrawn and the latch 12 locked, the lever 40 falls out of its position as soon as it is released uppermost position, in which the shoulder 42 is in engagement with the incision 31, in the position shown in FIG. 4, whereby the bolt, if it was previously through

to lie with its lower edge within the path of the shoulder 42 so that the bolt 42 cannot be brought into the open position (FIG. 4).
If the tumblers are set in such a way that the lever 40 can rotate slightly to the right (FIG. 5), the shoulder 42 no longer prevents the movement of the projection 93, so that the bolt 32 can be pulled back into the lock.
On the lower side of the shaft 33 of the bolt 32 there are two incisions 39, which are arranged in such a way that the spring 37 engages with an incision in each end position of the bolt and thereby prevents the bolt from leaving its end position or closer this is moved out.
When handling the lock, the tumblers are set as described below:
On the inside of the lock case there is a cylindrical extension 59 inside

but a much shorter slot 73. A pin 74 attached to the disk 66 protrudes through the slots 72, 73.
In order to determine how often the shaft 61 has to be turned in order to bring the tumblers into the open position, an adjusting device is used which consists of a wheel 75 fastened on the shaft 61 with a number of grooves 76 and a smooth partial periphery 77.

mounted roller one after the other in the grooves until the shaft 61 has been rotated enough times in one or the other direction. The arm 79 is fastened to the inside of the crew panel 81 with the extension 80.
In order to secure the bolt 32 so that it does not automatically enter the closing position, a hole 82 is provided on its lower side, into which a pin 83 carried by the plate 84 can protrude. The plate 84 has a projection 85 which extends outwardly to a Sohhtz in the front plate 11, the head part 86 of the pin in. One plane
