Die vorliegende Erfindung be-

 EMI1.1

In the manufacture of bricks by means of extrusion, it is often necessary, in order to achieve the desired shape, to divide the emerging strand by means of wires which are stretched in front of the mouthpiece. Here the wires easily tear the surface and unclean edges, so-called teeth, are created. The present invention is
 EMI1.2

The essence of the invention is that in the mouthpiece behind the wires several, inwardly tapering small wedges are attached one behind the other, which notch the clay strand so that the wire does not touch the surface of the strand and cannot create any teeth.

These wedges b, which run out to a point after the inner mouthpiece, can be attached to the sheet metal scales. The wedges b therefore already pre-cut the emerging clay strand up to a certain point, so that the pre-tensioned wires no longer find any resistance at the pre-cut edges and go through smoothly and smooth, burr-free edges are achieved. A single wedge is not sufficient to create such notches in the clay strand, since the notch has to be smoothed several times in succession. The rearmost wedge pushes any stones to one side, while the rough spots that arise here are removed by the next wedge. In this way, the edges are reliably prevented from tearing out when they are cut.

The three finished bricks are placed together on a board or on the drying trolley and then brought into the scaffolding. Before or during the drying process, the individual briquettes are pushed apart by hand using a pointed wedge in order to allow the individual briquettes to dry better.

The invention can of course also be applied to bricks with a rectangular cross-section, such as. B. with facing bricks, clinker bricks, etc., where smooth, clean edges are important.
