  Saw.

There are already known saws which consist of a steel wire with a round cross-section, in which teeth are worked helically around the circumference. In addition, smooth wires, wires with tooth-like constrictions and thickenings, polygonal, helically twisted wires and wire ropes for cutting wood have already been proposed.

According to the present invention, a steel wire is to be made suitable for easy and quick cutting through wood in that it is provided with rasp cuts all around.

In the case of such saws, which are only intended to be used in one direction, the rasp cuts are only raised in one direction, but in saws which are intended to cut in both directions, the rasp cuts are raised in both directions.

The drawing shows these two types of saws in FIGS. 1 and 2 on an enlarged scale. The thickness of the wire is about 2 11un.
