Articulated kettle with stepped grate and overlying filling chute pushed out of the middle.
In order to create a sufficiently high combustion space in sectional boilers with a step grate, which allows the fire to burn away from the grate to the side, it is necessary to install the filling shaft laterally to the center line of the boiler. Then, however, the limbs of the limbs are of unequal width, which, if appropriate precautions are not taken, causes an uneven heating of the water spaces and consequently an uneven flow of water.
To prevent this, according to the present invention, the wider leg of the sectional boiler created by the installation of the combustion chamber is divided into an ascending and a descending draft by a cast rib. while the narrower leg forms only a sloping draft of fire.
The invention has come in the drawing for illustration, u. Between FIG. 1 is a cross section and FIG. 2 is a longitudinal section through the articulated boiler.
As already mentioned, the step grate R or the filling shaft F is installed laterally to the center line of the channel in order to achieve a lateral burning of the fire from the same by creating a sufficiently large combustion space H in front of the step grate.
Due to this lateral position of the filling chute, however, there are two unevenly wide, flat water spaces on its side.
In order to evenly heat the water in these rooms so that the entire water content flows evenly through the boiler, the flat walls F and F that delimit the two water rooms must be supplied with the fire gases in the required manner.
For this purpose, the fire trains lying next to the wider water leg are like this
EMI1.1
Despite the different water content in the two limbs, the above-described arrangement of their flushing with the heating gases results in an even heating of the water on both sides of the filling shaft and an even flow of the water entering below through the entire boiler.
