Die Erfindung betrifft ein Strangprofil in Form einer Sockelleiste bestehend aus einem flachen Schaumkunststoffkörper mit angeformter Lippe aus weichem PVC. Sockelleisten dieser Art werden vor allem zur Verkleidung der Ränder von Bodenbelägen, insbesondere von Spannteppichen verwendet und haben zur Aufgabe, Ungleichförmigkeiten auszugleichen. Das Problem bei allen solchen Gegenständen, die im Strangpressverfahren hergestellt werden und aus einem Grundkörper aus Schaumstoff mit einem angeformten Teil aus weichem PVC bestehen, liegt in der mangelhaften Verbindung zwischen den beiden Kunststoffen, so dass an der Übergangsstelle vom weichen Kunststoff zum Schaumstoff häufig Risse entstehen, die in der Folge zum Abbrechen der Lippe führen.

Die Lösung hiefür ist überraschenderweise dadurch zustandegekommen, dass bei einem Strangprofil der eingangs erwähnten Art erfindungsgemäss die Lippe an den Schaumkunststoffkörper über eine Zwischenlage aus hartem PVC angeformt ist.
