If the voltage distribution is disrupted as a result of a heating wire break or short circuit, the core provided in the differential coil is moved by the no longer canceling action of the two windings A and!

The embodiment shown in Fig. 2 represents a radiator which consists only of a single chain of a single heating fabric, which by dividing it into eight elements k,

and the ends of the windings of these coils are evenly distributed and connected to the individual elements.

In the case of only minor damage to the radiator, remedial measures can be taken to reduce the current in the feed line and in the heating fabric by means of the choke coil so that the partial voltage difference resulting from the destruction of heating wires is unable to operate the cores of the differential coils and turn off the power. In the case of long fabrics, the warp can also be divided into individual elements by cross wires running in the direction of the weft without changing anything in the way of switching.

The use of differential coils for the purpose of actuating switches is also possible with fabrics with a heating wire shot, whereby the current is switched off immediately in the event of a wire break and thus any arcing that has occurred is nipped in the bud. The fabric can also be embedded in linoleum, cork linoleum, etc.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Electric heating element designed as a fabric, which is primarily intended to be fed with alternating current and whose chain or parts thereof are formed by heating wires.
