The invention relates to a card with a card drum, a material inlet consisting of a trough table with an overlying inlet roller and worker and turning rollers cooperating with the card drum, the card drum rotating at a peripheral speed that enables the fibers to fly away under centrifugal force.
As is well known, cards are used for the fine disintegration of fiber material and for the subsequent formation of nonwovens from the disintegrated individual fibers, the fed material initially being held back between the trough table and the inlet roller, combed out by the teeth of the card drum and taken to the worker and turning rollers, where further combing out and thus dissolving takes place in single fibers. In the case of random fleece cards with a rapidly rotating card drum, the material is then ejected onto a suction drum or a subsequent conveyor belt for fleece formation by centrifugal force, if necessary with the aid of a blower air stream or the like. It has now been shown that at a corresponding speed of the card drum, the inlet roller and the worker and turner rollers, the combed-out material is not fully on the teeth of the drum or
Rolls stick, but partly flies away from the points of contact of the rollers with the card drum approximately tangentially into the subsequent free two-fold area between the drum circumference and the roller circumference, with the roller following in the direction of rotation of the drum forming an impact surface for these fibers flying off. The consequence of this is considerable material accumulations or agglomerations, which can significantly impair the desired evenness of the fleece to be formed.
Accordingly, the invention is based on the object of eliminating these deficiencies and creating a card in which material agglomerations within the card itself are avoided by simple means, so that there is a better leveling effect with regard to the fleece to be formed.
The invention achieves the stated problem in that in all gusset areas between the card drum and the rollers arranged around it, covers are provided that cling to the card drum circumference on the one hand and the roller circumference on the other. These covers prevent the individual fibers from flying away from the drum or roller circumference and then accumulating on the next roller, even when the drum or roller is rotating rapidly, so that a uniform pile is created on the drum circumference and also on the worker and turning rollers it is secured and also guaranteed that a uniform fleece, i.e. H. forms a fleece of uniform thickness and density.
It is particularly expedient if the covers, adapted to the cross section of the gusset spaces, parallel to the drum or roller axis, optionally hollow strips, are used so that the gusset spaces are filled and there is a simple mounting option for the covers.
It is already known to provide od for card drums. Like. Covers that nestle against the drum circumference. However, these are all covers for those drum areas that are in front of the material inlet or after the last worker or turning roller in the direction of rotation of the drum, so that these covers more or less only serve as protection against contact and cannot even fulfill the task on which the invention is based .
As an exemplary embodiment, the drawing shows a card according to the invention in a scheme.
