The invention relates to a method for the volumetrically metered delivery of granular, pasty, viscous or similar. Materials by means of a mixing and kneading device, which has a shaft that is rotatable in a housing and at the same time movable back and forth, carries the stirring and kneading elements, which interact with kneading chicanes arranged in the housing, for the rotary movement on the one hand and for the to and fro Movement on the other hand independent drive means are provided.
When processing batches or chemical intermediate products, there is often the problem that they have a strong tendency to separate when conveyed or that the materials cannot be comminuted well and broken down into denominations suitable for conveying; Sticky pastes also pose a particularly difficult conveying problem. Difficulties also arise in the volumetric metering of fine-grained products, as gas or air inclusions are often released, so that strong changes in volume occur. However, volumetric metering requires that either changes in the state of the products to be conveyed remain in a constant ratio to the metering rate, or that the metering device is adapted to the changes that occur.
It is also important that the metering device works in a self-cleaning manner, since otherwise there is a risk of caking, which, as is well known, can make screw conveyors completely ineffective.
According to the invention, a method for volumetrically metered delivery is now proposed as described at the beginning, which is characterized in that the forward stroke of the shaft is carried out accelerated compared to the backward stroke in order to generate piston flow resulting in the material in the mixing and kneading housing, which compared to the opposite, through The flow generated by the reverse stroke and the rotation of the shaft dominates, the volume of material conveyed per unit of time being adjusted by changing the number of strokes per unit of time and / or the stroke speed.
In the front and rear end positions, the lifting movement of the shaft is expediently interrupted during a full revolution of the shaft in order to scrape off material particles from the stirring and kneading elements. The conveyance remains constant even if the products lose a considerable amount of volume due to degassing or evaporation, since the effective conveying area of the blades also decreases in accordance with the decrease in the degree of filling.
In the following, the method is described in more detail with reference to an embodiment of a suitable device shown in the drawings, u. Between: Fig. 1 shows a vertical section through the device, Fig. 2 shows a cross section in the area of the wings, Fig. 2a shows a cross section according to the line A-A of Fig. 2 and Fig. 3 shows a detail of Fig. 1.

the design and arrangement of which can be seen in greater detail in particular from FIGS. 2 and 3. The wings -9- are hollow and have a flattened profile, as shown in Fig. 2a.
Inside the shaft - 7 - a central tube - 10 - is provided for supplying a heating and cooling medium, which tube is connected to a return line - 11 - through which the heating and

To clean the wings --12--, wiping baffles - 13 - inserted into the housing wall are provided, which are designed like spikes and fastened by means of a head - 14. For the radial fixation of the baffles and as a safeguard against rotation, a bar - 15 - is arranged, which extends in the longitudinal direction of the housing. It should be mentioned in particular that the stripping chicanes are not shown in FIG. 1 so that the clarity is not jeopardized.
Upstream of the inlet connection --4--, an exchangeable sleeve -16- with a worm -17- is arranged on the shaft -7-. On the drive side of the shaft there is also a stuffing box-like seal --19-- and a bearing --20-- in a stuffing box section --18--. Flanged to the stuffing box section --18-- is a gear with housing --21-- in which a gear - 22 is present and keyed onto the shaft.
The gear --22-- meshes with a pinion - 23--, whose

and - 29 - also pivotably mounted, so that the reciprocating movement of the piston rod - 26 - causes the bracket - 27 - to pivot, as shown in phantom and by arrows - 30.
It should also be mentioned that the cylinder in the housing at both ends has a line - 31 and 32 - for a pneumatic or hydraulic medium, which lines are connected to a control device which is not shown in detail in the drawings.
The legs of the bracket - 27 - are connected to the drive end of the shaft by means of sliding blocks - 33 - and cross pins - 34 - which cross pins in a housing - 35 - of an axial bearing - 36--

the rotary as well as the lifting movement with the shaft --7--. At the same time, it is ensured that no outside air can enter the mixing and kneading housing --2--.
During operation, the lifting movement of the shaft is carried out quickly in the conveying direction and slowly in the opposite direction to the conveying direction. This is achieved by appropriately acting on the cylinder arranged in the housing, in that the corresponding amount of air or liquid is regulated through the lines - 31 and 32. In this way a piston flow effect occurs in the conveying direction

of the piston rod - 26 - in the conveying direction, it stops for a certain time at the end of the stroke and then performs a slow backward movement in the direction opposite to the conveying direction. After a short pause, there is rapid movement in the conveying direction again.
It should also be mentioned that in the articulated transmission between the piston rod - 26 - and the head --41-- of the bracket --27-- there are two adjustment options. By shifting the connection point of the piston rod - 26 - up or down, the stroke becomes larger or smaller, whereby
EMI2.4
Distance between the piston rod -26- and the head-41-of the bracket-27-can be readjusted. In this way, the close play between the kneading chicanes and the blades of the shaft is always maintained.
The wing shape described in the exemplary embodiment can also be modified in a known manner, for example with the knife edge in the direction of rotation. It should also be pointed out that the arrangement of the bearings - 8 and 20 - and the stuffing box - 18 - is conceivable in other ways.
