Die Folge hievon wäre eine Störung der Regelung. Dieser Fehler wird durch die Einschaltung eines elastischen Zwischengliedes 6 beseitigt. Dieses besteht vorteilhaft (siehe Fig. 2) aus zwei Teilen te, m, die durch Blattfedern o, p miteinander verbunden und derart gestaltet sind, dass sie nur etwa 3 mm zusammengedrückt bzw. auseinandergezogen werden können. Hiedurch ist es möglich, eine ganze Anzahl Ventile durch eine Hilfsmaschine zu regeln, während sonst schon bei einer Tandemviertaktmaschine stets ein Ventil die Regelungsvorrichtung festhalten konnte.
Es kann also der Kolben l dem Kraftmittel stets folgen ; sind die Ventile geschlossen bzw. die Wälzbahn frei, so wird die letztere im Sinne des Hilfskolbens verschoben. Ist aber eine oder die andere Wälzbahn festgehalten, so nehmen die elastischen Zwischenglieder e die Kraft auf und verschieben die Wälzbahn erst, nachdem sie wieder frei ist.
