Fig. l zeigt eine erfindungsgemässe Vorrichtung in Seitenansicht. Fig. 5 stellt

Device for the production of finned tubes
The invention relates to a device for manufacturing finned tubes by fastening a helically wound band on a tube. Devices of this type are already known in which two profiled rollers are provided on a shaft at a distance from one another, between which a steel band is arranged, which is inserted into a channel previously made on the outer surface of the pipe. However, these devices have the disadvantage that a separate device is necessary for the production of the channel on the outside of the pipe into which the steel strip is inserted.
Another known device for the production of finned tubes preferably has three rollers resting with their circumference on the tube and supported on a support via support elements. In this known device, however, the rollers are driven and serve to cause rotation and advance of the tube.
The invention has set itself the task of avoiding the disadvantages of the known devices and to provide a device for the production of finned tubes by fastening a helically wound tape on a pipe, which in one operation is the production of a groove in the pipe, the introduction of the tape in allows the groove and the definition of this band by upsetting the pipe material.
The invention is based on a device which preferably has three rollers resting on its periphery on the pipe and supported on a support via support elements, and the invention consists in that the support is guided displaceably relative to the pipe in the direction of the pipe axis and that Each roller consists of two parallel parts forming a gap between each other for receiving the tape, one part of which is provided with a knife for making a groove in the tube and both parts are provided with upsetting tools in the area adjacent to the gap, the The strip is preferably fed via pairs of rollers, at least one of which has frustoconical rollers.
The device according to the invention makes it possible to produce the groove in the pipe in one operation, insert the tape into the groove and upset the pipe parts adjacent to the groove and thereby fix the tape inserted into the groove so that it is not necessary to do so Attach the tape to the pipe by welding or gluing. The device according to the invention thus enables the finned tube to be manufactured much more easily than the known devices. Because the tape is fed in, preferably via pairs of rollers, at least one of which has frustoconical rollers, the tape is given a trapezoidal cross section before it is inserted into the groove. This shaping of the tape ensures that the tape assumes a position perpendicular to the pipe surface without wrinkling.
The invention is illustrated schematically in the drawings using an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows a device according to the invention in side view. FIG. 2 shows the support carrying the rollers in a front view, FIG. 3 in a side view and FIG. 4 in a plan view. Fig. 5 represents
