<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
Fig. 3 zeigt eine Ausführung der Druckplatte.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Device for improving the mixture formation
Carburettor internal combustion engines with spark ignition
The invention relates to a device for improving the mixture formation
Carburetor internal combustion engines with spark ignition by means of a between the carburetor and the
Motor block arranged driven worm od. Conveyor through which the resulting
After preparation, the mixture is transferred into the combustion chamber of the cylinder via its own intake channel, which is separate from the main intake channel.
Such a system has the advantage that not only the usual carburetor fuel has to be used, but that a gasoline engine can be driven with the fuel of a diesel engine, i.e. a multi-fuel engine which has a simpler control compared to the known multi-fuel engines of the Disel design by carburettor and is around 40% cheaper, smaller and lighter with the same performance. This makes the engine insensitive to fuel with regard to the boiling range of the fuel.
The aim of the invention is to carry out the preparation of the fuel condensate in the intake channel which is separate from the main intake channel in a particularly effective manner.
The solution to this problem is, according to the invention, that a carburetor is provided in front of the intake channel with the smaller cross-section, which forms a fat mixture, the conveying device is located between this carburetor and the intake channel and that a carburetor is arranged in front of the main intake channel, which allows pure air to pass through when the opening is small and which, as the opening increases, enriches the air more and more with fuel.
This measure enables the condensate and, if necessary, a fat mixture to be prepared and carried out at a desired point in time through carburetor settings so that the purpose of the invention is achieved, namely to achieve a multilayered mixture, this multilayered being designed so that the The mixture around the candle is an ignitable composition, while the remaining part is in excess of air.
A carburetor can now be present in front of the normal intake port, which feeds a lean mixture to the cylinder. A carburetor that meets the requirement that it allows pure air to pass through when the opening is only small and that the air is enriched more and more with fuel as the opening increases, is e.g. B. a normal carburetor that has no idle system.
According to a further feature of the invention, the two mentioned carburetors of both intake ducts can be combined as double carburetors. This results in a further structural simplification.
An exemplary embodiment of the invention is shown in the drawings; further features of the invention can be derived from the drawings and the description.
Fig. 1 shows an embodiment in which the entire mixture is subjected to pressure and impact treatment, Fig. 2 shows an embodiment in which the mixture is only in the lower speed
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
and load range runs through the screw, Fig. 3 shows the shape of the pressure disc, Figs. 4 and 5 show an embodiment in which only the liquid fuel film is captured with relatively little air and subjected to the pressure and impact treatment and Fig. 6 shows the Separate feeding of the processed condensate into a separate combustion chamber.
In Fig. 1, below the carburetor -l-there is a housing-2- in which there is an externally driven shaft -3-. On this shaft --3-- two screws - 4-- are attached, which get smaller from the outside inwards and end at the inner end with a pressure disk --5-. The two screws are separated by a baffle plate --7--.
The mixture coming from the carburettor enters the screws at the openings --6--, is brought into these at high speed and compressed by the ever smaller passages, which lie close to the housing --32-. At the end, the mixture is pressed against the impact wall --7-- with high pressure. In doing so, the last, larger drops of fuel are finely reduced, the
Surface tension is finally eliminated and an absolutely homogeneous, condensate-free and drip-free mixture is created, which flows through the openings --8-- into the intake pipe of the engine.
In Fig. 2 there is under the carburetor - 9 - with its throttle valve --10-- a housing - 11 - with a throttle valve - 12--. Above the closed throttle valve - 12 - there is an opening - 13 - in the part of the housing in which the screw - 14 - with pressure disk is located. The impact body 15 protrudes into a further housing 17 through which exhaust gases are passed and heat the impact body. In the lower speed range, flap -12-- is closed and the mixture flows through the opening or openings to the screw or twin screw -14--.
There the mixture is prepared as already described and pressed into the suction channel through the opening --16-- below the throttle valve --12--. The shafts of the throttle valve 10 and 12 are connected by levers in such a way that the valve 12 opens later, but then faster, so that when the carburetor throttle valve 10 is fully open, the other throttle valve 12 is also fully open. From a certain speed and load range onwards, the lower flap opens and the mixture flows more and more directly to the intake manifold.
Fig. 3 shows an embodiment of the printing plate. On the shaft --18 - two, three or more dividing disks - 19 - are attached, which are not attached at right angles, but offset by a few degrees (5 to 150). This disc designed in this way presses the mixture against the baffle plate under high pressure.
4 and 5 again show the carburetor - 20 - with the housing located underneath - 21 -. Directly below the carburetor, the housing forms a ring-22--, which has a slightly smaller diameter than the bore of the carburetor and projects a few millimeters into the carburetor.
The ring --22-- delimits a ring channel -23- on the inside, which is connected to the inputs --25-- to the double screw --26-- by means of feeds --24--. Here, too, the screw shrinks in size from the outside to the inside and has the pressure disc - 27-- at the end. The rear end of the impact body-28-projects into the exhaust-heated space-29-and with it
EMI2.1
increases the space of the openings --31 - inwards, while the height of the openings is reduced.
In what is probably the most advantageous arrangement for preparing part of the mixture, it is mainly the liquid fuel film that forms on the carburetor wall that is fed to the screws, with very little air being contained in this mixture. At idle and at a low speed range, the carburetor's throttle valve is so little open that almost the entire mixture goes through the screw system. The fuel from the idle bores of the carburetor flows almost entirely along the wall of the carburetor and thus reaches the augers.
With certain carburetors, a jet of fuel is sprayed onto the side of the carburettor opposite the idling system when accelerating. Here, too, a larger part comes to the wall, normally forms condensate, but is processed according to the invention and sent to complete combustion.
The openings --31 - through which the prepared mixture is pressed back into the intake duct by the screws with pressure disks, are designed so that this mixture can mix evenly with the air in the intake duct. Eventually these openings are made using
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
Tubes protruding into the suction channel, which can be opened downwards, are extended.
In Fig. 6, the main intake pipe -33-is a carburetor -44-z. B. assigned without an idle system, which via the processing device --21-- according to Fig. 4 and 5 or 1 to 3, a lean mixture is supplied to the cylinders -37-, of which only one is shown in Fig. 6. The carburetor --43-- feeds rich mixture to the intake duct --34 - via other means of conveyance or the processing device --42--, whereby the part --41-- of this intake duct is located inside the cylinder -37-, or is housed there in an essay.
Instead of the single carburetor-20-- into which the device-21-with the ring-22-

in the cylinder. The second carburetor --44 - will preferably supply clean air at the beginning of its opening in order to provide the combustion air with more and more fuel as the opening increases. The easiest way to do this is to have this carburetor --44-- not contain an idle system.
Both carburetors can also be designed as a double carburetor, in which before

allows pure air to pass through and only later supplies the combustion air with more and more fuel.
