   Im Patente Nr. 29027 ist ein neuer Körper, Siliziummonoxyd, und ein Verfahren zu dessen Darstellung beschrieben. Der erwähnte Körper kann mindestens in zwei Formen auftreten, nämlich in einer glasartigen Form und in Form eines fein verteilten,   uufUhl-   baren Pulvers von weicher, brauner Färbung. Obwohl die Färbung an sich eine gefällige ist und das Pulver für gewisse Zwecke vollkommen geeignet macht, so kann sie doch für andere Verwendungszwecke weniger dienlich sein und aus diesem Grunde wurde ein Verfahren zur Änderung der braunen Färbung ersonnen.

   Dies kann auf verschiedene Weise geschehen ; will man ein weisses Pulver herstellen, so kann dies dadurch geschehen, dass man das braune Pulver durch eine Flamme bläst oder das Pulver auf irgendwelche andere Weise oxydiert, während es in Luft in Schwebe erhalten wird und daher nicht   zusammen-     fritten   kann. Durch diesen Vorgang wird das braune Monoxydpulver in das Dioxyd von
