<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

Capsule for the inviolable closing of a vessel
The invention relates to a plastic capsule for closing or covering the closure of vessels of all kinds, such as large and small bottles, spray vessels, etc.
The known capsules of this type generally consist of an upper part, the so-called cap, of which at least a part covers the opening of the vessel and optionally forms the closure member, and a lower part or jacket that is permanently attached to the vessel and with which the Cap is connected by a guarantee strip, which is pulled off before the first use of the contents of the vessel.
To make it easier to pull off the guarantee strip, it is known to connect the edges of the guarantee strip to the two adjacent components of the capsule, i.e. H. the cap and the jacket, to be connected by weakening zones, the z. B. are formed by thinning the wall thickness at the connection points or by perforation lines.
It has been shown that the thinning of the wall thickness of the capsule does not generally lead to a satisfactory result, since this thinning has to be carried out very precisely and the smallest shaping error in the manufacture of the capsule either leads to the tearing of the guarantee strip due to the excessive pull-off resistance or leads to slight damage to the capsule, as the guarantee strip comes off with a simple handling of the vessel.
When using perforation lines, these disadvantages usually do not exist. However, the known capsules with perforating lines require complicated, sensitive and expensive shapes for their production and a series of relatively fine and fragile spikes for the formation of the perforation holes, the production of which is very difficult.
The invention is intended to avoid the disadvantages and to create a capsule with separation of the security strip by perforation lines, in which the perforation lines are formed when the capsule is manufactured in the mold with the aid of a very simple device which does not require any thorns.
Accordingly, the inventive capsule for the inviolable closure of a vessel, which has a peelable guarantee strip arranged between a jacket firmly attached to the vessel and a cap and in which the tear-off zones surrounding the guarantee strip consist of a sequence of openings and connecting bridges, is characterized in that a Guarantee strips between the upper edge of ribs, which are made in one piece with the jacket and protrude from its inner wall and are separated by grooves so far that annular openings are formed, and the lower edge of ribs, which are made with the cap consist of one piece and protrude from their outer wall and are also separated from one another by grooves so far that annularly arranged openings are formed,
the ribs, viewed in plan, being offset from the ribs of the jacket, and in that the two series of ribs extend over the entire thickness of the guarantee strip.
The previously known devices are to solve a certain in the art of
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
Closing a vessel is not suitable for the problem that occurs, but for which the invention represents an excellent solution. This problem is that the entire closure device, which is a kind of plastic sleeve, has to be pressed onto a bottle neck or the like by the action of force, the upper bead of the bottle neck engaging the inside of the upper part of the casing of the closure device. The application and engagement of the closure requires relatively powerful machines that act on the cap of the closure.
In all known designs of tear-off zones, however, such a pressure action leads to a breakdown of the connection points or bridges between the cap and the tear-off guarantee strip or between this strip and the lower part of the closure and thus to the entire closure device becoming unusable. These disadvantages are entirely avoided by the device according to the invention.
The invention is further explained below with reference to the embodiments of the capsule shown as examples in the drawings. FIG. 1 shows a first embodiment of the capsule according to the invention for arrangement on the neck of a bottle, in side view. FIG. 2 shows an axial section to FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows the top view of the capsule according to FIGS. 1 and 2, and FIG. 4 shows the capsule according to FIGS. 1 to 3 in a perspective view. FIG. 5 shows a view corresponding to FIG. 4 with the guarantee strip partially removed, while FIG. 6 shows an enlarged detail of FIG. 2 in axial section along line 6-6 of FIG. 7, and FIG. 7 shows a cross section along line 7 -7 of Fig. 6 illustrate.
In Fig. 8 is a second embodiment of the capsule in axial section along the line
EMI2.1
enlarged axial section and FIG. 11 a partial plan view of FIG. 8 with the guarantee strip partially removed.
The capsule shown in FIGS. 1 to 7 consists of a single piece of plastic and has
EMI2.2
Guarantee strip - 2 -, as can be seen from FIG. 2, is somewhat larger than the outer diameter of the adjacent edge of the cap - 3 -, while on the other hand the outer diameter of the guarantee strip is somewhat smaller than the inner diameter of the adjacent edge of the jacket
The cap - 3 - is provided with grooves on part of its circumference, which extend to its lower edge. These grooves are made up of a series of evenly spaced apart
EMI2.3
Forming openings (see Fig. 3) that alternate with the small bridges that are formed by the lower ends of the ribs --4--.
A similar arrangement is made in the connection zone of the lower edge of the guarantee strip --2-- with the casing - l - of the capsule, in that the casing - l - is provided on its inside with grooves --10-- which in between the outer circumference of the lower part-l-and
EMI2.4
--10-- ribs forming --11-- (see Fig. 6) Openings that are again formed between small bridges that connect the lower part - 1 - with the guarantee strip - 2 -.
To make it easier to peel off the guarantee strip --2--, the grooves 5-, as can be seen from FIGS. 3 and 7, are preferably offset and are arranged in relation to the grooves --10-- in such a way that
EMI2.5
Tensile force always causes a single bridge to be torn through alternately on each side of the security strip.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 7, the guarantee strip --2-- runs on the
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
the entire circumference of the capsule, one of its ends being provided with an upwardly directed tongue --12-- as a tension member. This tongue contains grooves -13- on its outside, which correspond to the other grooves of the cap -3-. The tongue - 12 - is preferably designed in the shape of a triangle such that it indicates the direction in which the guarantee strip is to be peeled off. In order to create space for the arrangement of the tongue-12-on the cap-3-, the ribs-4-in the region of the tongue have been omitted.
To open the capsule, through which the actual closure of the z. B. released by a bottle formed vessel and the contents of the vessel is accessible, the tongue-12- is slightly lifted from the circumference of the capsule, whereupon a sufficient tensile force is applied to the tongue to cause the small bridges to tear one after the other, which connect the guarantee strip - 2 - with the cap-3 - and the jacket-1 - between the openings in the annular opening strips - 6 and 9 - which form the perforations.
In the embodiment according to FIGS. 8 to 11, the capsule according to the invention is used to cover the closure of smaller bottles or flacons of various types, including vessels containing a spray. The capsule can be used to cover the outlet opening and the neck of a vessel or a bottle that is provided with a tilt lock. The capsule here has a relatively elastic jacket --41 -, a guarantee strip - 42 - and a cap - 43 - which, after the capsule has been opened, has a removable cap for the vessel or z. B. forms for the tilt lock.
The guarantee strip - 42 - consists of a frustoconical wall part, which at its lower: and with an inwardly directed annular flange-44-of the jacket-41-and at its upper edge with the lower edge-45-of the cap-43- connected is. The latter is provided with grooves --47 - on its circumference, which are formed between ribs - 46 - which are evenly spaced from one another. In addition to the good appearance of the cap, these grooves and ribs also offer the advantage that the cap has a roughened surface and can be grasped and handled more easily.
The outer diameter of the cap - 43 - is measured at the lower edge of the same and on the outer side of the ribs - 46 - approximately equal to the outer diameter of the adjacent upper edge of the guarantee strip - 42 -. The lower ends of the grooves -47-open into an annular opening strip -48- which runs concentrically to the outside of the lower edge -45 of the cap -43 -and therefore form a sequence of openings that are evenly spaced from one another, which are separated from each other by the lower ends of the ribs lying between them. These openings thus again form a perforation line with the small bridges which connect the guarantee strip - 42 - to the cap - 43 - (FIG. 9).
In the same way, the lower edge of the guarantee strip --42-- is connected to the jacket - 41 - by the ribs - 49 - of a grooved part of a very small height, which is arranged on the upper edge of the jacket --41-- is. The upper ends of the grooves - 50 - formed between the ribs - 49 - form on the outside of the lower edge of the guarantee strip - 42 - again an annular opening strip - 51 - (Fig. 10), which is concentric is arranged to the guarantee strip and contains a wreath of small openings, which with the small connecting bridges also forms a perforation line that makes it easier to pull off the guarantee strip.
The guarantee strip is interrupted on its circumference by an axial gap and at one of its ends with a pull-off tongue - 52 - which z. B. can be designed according to FIG. When the vessel is closed, the shell --41 - of the capsule is placed on the neck of the vessel and attached to it by deformation made possible by its elasticity. To secure its fixed arrangement, the jacket - 41 - can be provided with a fastening bead on the inside as shown in FIG.
The capsule according to the invention represents a closure secured against unintentional opening for all types of vessels and guarantees the authenticity of the contents of the vessel through the arrangement and inclusion of the guarantee strip in the capsule.
According to the invention, the grooved parts can be arranged on both sides of the guarantee strip on one edge of the same on the inside and on the other edge on the outside of the capsule. The special arrangement and the shape of the grooves give the capsule, despite the two perforation lines in the axial direction, sufficient mechanical resistance to prevent the capsule from being compressed when it is pushed onto a bottle neck or the like.
The invention is not bound to the illustrated and described embodiments

various changes can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
