Drehschalter, insbesondere Stufendrehschalter

Rotary switches, in particular multi-step rotary switches
The invention relates to a rotary switch, in particular a multi-step rotary switch with concentric switching contacts assigned to one another and with a contact bridge pivotably arranged on a holder about a tangent of an imaginary circle about the axis of rotation of the switch.
Rotary switches with switching contacts are known, which are arranged on an insulation plate concentrically around the axis of rotation of the switch, to which a holder designed as a spring for the contact bridge is attached. The spring is angled at its end and is supported against a pan made of insulating material on which the contact bridge is attached. As a result, the pan together with the contact bridge can be pivoted about a pivot axis running in a tangential direction to the pivot circle of the spring.
Since the contact bridge of this known switch is designed as a resilient plate, which is provided with two bulges and the pivot axis of the spring runs approximately halfway up the pan, this pivot axis is at a distance above the switching contacts that is half the height of the pan, increased by the height of a bulge of the contact bridge, corresponds. As a result, the pressure of the contact bridge against the contact surface is unevenly distributed and the contact bridge can become skewed and jammed with such a switch, causing increased and uneven wear of the contacts and thus reducing the accuracy and functional stability of the electrical measuring circuit in the Switch is used.
The aim of the invention is to create an operationally reliable and robust rotary switch which is suitable for continuous operation without disturbances and in which undesired overturning moments of the contact bridge are avoided.
In addition, the invention aims to avoid the disadvantages mentioned and to create a rotary switch which ensures a stable contact state of the connected circuits with the smallest possible stepless regulation and in which a self-adjustment of the current-carrying contact bridge on the contact surface and thus an even contact pressure distribution is guaranteed.
According to the invention, these goals are achieved in that the contact bridge is attached to the holder so as to be pivotable about a further axis of rotation, both axes cross, are preferably arranged normal to one another and are essentially laid in the plane of the switching contacts.
The inventive design of a rotary switch makes it possible for the contact bridge to pivot not only about an axis running in the direction of the tangent to an imaginary circle around the axis of rotation of the switch, but also about an axis that crosses this axis. The two pivot axes preferably run normal to one another. The contact bridge thus has two degrees of freedom with regard to its pivotability. The low-lying pivot axes prevent the contact bridge from tilting and ensure that the contact pressure is even

guaranteed.
The contact bridge is preferably supported against the holder by means of a spring-loaded bracket. Such a design enables the contact pressure of the contact bridge to be increased on the switching contacts.
Further advantages and features of the invention follow from the description below of an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing.

is provided. A bracket --6-- extends through the opening --5-- and carries a contact bridge --7-- consisting of flat springs via axes of rotation - 9 and 10-- and angles --8--. The flat springs form brushes at their ends which slide on the switching contacts --2--,
The two axes of rotation - 9 and 10 - are essentially centrally connected to one another,
EMI2.2
The end faces of the brushes of the contact bridge are constantly pressed against the switching contacts --2-- with constant pressure.
As a result of the above-mentioned arrangement of the axes -9 and -10- and the brushes of the contact bridge -7-when the holder is rotated --4-- the plane of application of the force adjusting the brushes essentially coincides with the plane of application of the frictional force preventing this adjustment.
