Process for the production of dolls bodies.

The great advantages that kaolin offers as a material for the production of dolls bodies and which mainly consist in the washability of the same, could not give this material sufficient spread in this industry, since the advantages were offset by the great disadvantages of significant weight and low breaking strength .

An attempt was made to use other, lighter masses: but these did not withstand moisture and were easily decomposed by moisture.
 EMI1.1

The process for producing the doll's body is carried out as follows: Kaolin is introduced into the mold, which is advantageously made of plaster, in a fairly thin layer and then carefully dried, whereupon the body obtained in this way is removed from the mold. This hollow body has only a very low breaking strength while being extremely light. To increase this, materials are introduced into the interior of the hollow body. which do not noticeably increase the weight of the hollow body.

After drying, the kaolin hollow body is coated with varnish on the outside and filled with DExtrin on the inside, which, however, is removed again after a short time. This dextrin layer is through
 EMI1.2
The cavity is then filled with dissolved resin, which is removed again after a short time. Then it is dried again and the inner wall is coated with glue paint or varnish. The doll's body produced according to the present process is washable and has a low weight with great strength.
