Der Knopf nach vorliegender Erfindung besteht in bekannter Weise aus zwei Kopfgliedern bi, b2 und einem Steg a, der die Kopfglieder miteinander verbindet und an jedem Kopfglied gelenkig befestigt ist. Er unterscheidetsich aber von den bekannten Knöpfen dieser Art dadurch, dass die Verbindungsstelle des Steges mit dem einen Kopfgliede seitwärts links von der Mitte dieses Gliedes und die Verbindungsstelle des Steges mit dem anderen Kopfgliede seitwärts rechts von der Mitte dieses Gliedes sich befindet und der Steg nur von solcher Länge ist, dass beim Heranklappen des Steges an die Kopfglieder letztere übereinander und nicht etwa seitwärts nebeneinander zu liegen kommen.
Diese Bauart macht den Knopf besonders geeignet als Scllliessknopf für Hemdärmel, Manschetten usw. zu dienen, da er auch in seiner flachen Gebrauchslage nicht über die Breite jedes Kopfgliedes hinausragt und die beiden Knopflöcher übereinander zusammenhält.
Die Gelenke zwischen dem Steg und den Kopfgliedern können mit geeigneten Federsperrungen versehen sein, welche sowohl die aufgerichtete als auch die niedergeklappte Steglage sichern.

The button according to the present invention consists in a known manner of two head members bi, b2 and a web a, which connects the head members to one another and is articulated to each head member. However, it differs from the known buttons of this type in that the connection point of the bridge with one head section is located sideways to the left of the center of this section and the connection point between the bridge and the other head section is to the right of the center of this section and the bridge is only from is of such a length that when the bar is folded up onto the head members, the latter come to lie one on top of the other and not sideways next to one another.
This design makes the button particularly suitable for use as a closing button for shirt sleeves, cuffs, etc., as it does not protrude beyond the width of each head link even in its flat position of use and it holds the two buttonholes together one above the other.
The joints between the web and the head members can be provided with suitable spring locks which secure both the upright and the folded-down position of the web.
