like Fig. l shows a disc --20-- with a grinding surface --21--. The disk-20 has a base part-22-with a flat plate -23-. The base part --22-- and the plate --23-- preferably have a circular shape when viewed from above, and the plate --23-- usually has a beveled edge --24--.

is obtained. The workpieces-W- are circular and flat in plan view. An arrow marks a certain point on the workpiece-W--.
The workpiece - W - has a diameter which is slightly larger than the difference between the largest and smallest diameter of the annular surface --21--, so that the workpiece-W- placed on it touches the hub --26-- protrudes over the edge of the disc --20--, u.zw. so that at least half of the workpiece remains in contact with the surface --21--. The workpiece-W- is pressed against the surface --21-- and guided in a circular path around the imaginary axis of the disk --20-- and moves, while maintaining its direction, from the position according to FIG. 1 to that according to FIG. 2 keeping the edge of the workpiece-W-in contact with the hub -26-.
The workpiece --W-- has moved clockwise by 900, and it can be seen from the arrow mark that the orientation of workpiece-W- has been essentially maintained. The workpiece-W-- protrudes over the disc --20--, with part of the workpiece-W- overhanging the edge of the disc --20--. In the position shown in Fig. 1, the part of the workpiece - W - under the arrow over the disk - 20 - protrudes, whereas in Fig. 2 the same part of the workpiece - W - just on the surface - -21-- and another crescent-shaped part of the workpiece protrudes over the disc - 20 -.
In Fig. 3, the workpiece has now moved a further 90 on its circular path, and the arrow indicates that the orientation has really been maintained and another crescent-shaped part protrudes from the workpiece-W- over the disc --20--.
In Fig. 4 the workpiece has already covered three quarters of its circular movement, with another part of a crescent-shaped shape protruding over the disk --20--.
In Fig. 5 the workpiece-W can be seen after a single revolution with the same half-moon part protruding over the disk -20- as in Fig. 1. However, this part is during its

A thrust bearing --77-- rests on the shoulder at the end --75--, and a sleeve --78- with a circumferential groove --79-- is between the thrust bearing --77-- and a nut -81- arranged. The lever-53-encompasses the cylinder -52- in the manner of a ring and has a pair of inwardly extending pins -82 and 83- which through the slots arranged in the cylinder-52 into the groove -79-of the sleeve-78 -intervention. A spring-loaded pawl --84-- on the lever --53-- engages with a rack --85-- mounted on the cylinder --52--.
During operation, the lever --53-- is raised and is held in this position by the pawl -84 on the rack --85--. The lifting of the shaft --48-- with the crank --55-- and the workpiece holder --56-- is effected by the lever - 53 -. The workpiece holder - 56--

Another embodiment of the drive can be seen in FIG. The shaft --48-- with the crank --55-- has a bore -90-- at its outer end. This hole --90-- is provided with a flange bushing --91--, which is used for the rotatable mounting of a bolt --92--. A bearing --94-- is provided to absorb the axial forces acting on the bolt --92--
EMI3.2
The washer --96-- are used to hold the bolt --92-- in the bushing --91--. The rod --58-- is articulated to the bolt --92-- by a pin --97--.
The bolt --92-- has a stepped thread end -98-- on which a nut --99-- is arranged.

--100-- engages workpiece W. A compression spring --103-- is located between the flange-101- and a spring plate-104--. In the construction according to Fig. 13, the bolt --92-- can twist in the bush --91-- while maintaining its orientation by the rod - 58--. The compression spring --103-- acts on the workpiece holder --100-- and can be adjusted by adjusting the nut --99--. The workpiece holder --100-- can either act against the workpiece itself or against a pressure plate in between.
In Fig. 14 another embodiment is shown in which the bolt --92-- is connected to the rod --58--. At the lower end of the bolt --92-- there is a pressure cylinder --106-- with a feed line - 107 -. This line --107-- is attached to the rod --58-- with a ring --108-- and preferably with a compressed air source - 109--

--110-- connected. 12.7 mm. If necessary, the piston --111-- can be prevented from rotating in the cylinder --106--. During operation, the shaft --48 - and the bolt --92 - are lowered so that the workpiece holder --112-- can engage in the workpiece-W- or in an adapted pressure plate in between.
The height of the shaft --48 - can be determined with the pawl - 84 -. The compressed air flows into the cylinder --106-- and causes an elastic pressure of the workpiece holder --112-- against the workpiece-W- or the pressure plate in between. The size of the cylinder --106-- and the air pressure are selected so that the greatest possible force is achieved on the workpiece holder --112--. The piston - 111 - can also be replaced by a metal diaphragm or a rubber diaphragm enclosed in metal.
The machine according to the invention allows a much faster and more precise work than was possible with the previously known machines.
The examples presented in the description can of course experience a wide variety of changes in type and application within the meaning of the invention.
