Filters for cigarettes or the like.
Filters for cigarettes or the like tobacco products are known. They usually have a low cleanability for tar, nicotine or similar harmful substances, which often also affects the aroma. So there are filter plates with just a single outlet opening or cup-like nozzles into which the smoke enters without subsequently being directed against a baffle wall, or a complicated smoke path system etc., while according to the invention it is filtered through the interaction of smoke compression, the the selected number of nozzles, the nozzle opening size and the selected distance between the nozzle ring and the impact surface.
The filter according to the invention for cigarettes or similar tobacco products, provided with a cup-like nozzle and baffle or baffle arranged at a distance from it. Cooling surface for the smoke is essentially characterized in that the broad part of the nozzle adjoins the tobacco part and that it rests against the casing, and the narrowed part bears a ring of outlet nozzles which are directed against the baffle wall surrounding the cup. The invention also relates to details of such a filter.
The drawings show an example of an embodiment of the nozzle for cigarettes, in Fig. 1 and 2 on a large scale in plan and floor plan, in Fig. 3 and 4 on an only slightly enlarged scale in sectional elevation. Fig. 5 shows another embodiment with axially directed nozzles, FIG. 6 shows the associated separation surface or the end cap to be pushed on.
The filter for cigarettes or the like is formed by a bowl-like nozzle - -2-- which traverses the smoking product. He is also familiar with the elimination of harmful substances such as tar, nicotine and the like. Like. Specific baffle --6-- assigned. According to the invention, the nozzle --2-- borders with its broad part, i.e. H. with the upper margin-4, on the tobacco part. It rests on the wrapping. Its narrowed part - 2 '- carries a ring of outlet nozzles --5--, which are directed against the baffle wall --6-- surrounding the bowl.
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 1, 3 and 4, the outlet nozzles --5-- are directed radially and in the peripheral surface of the

The latter is advantageously made translucent so that the smoker can see when the wall is full of excretion and should be replaced.
In the embodiment shown, for example, in FIGS. 5 and 6, the outlet nozzles --5 - are arranged axially directed at the bottom of the narrowed part --2 '. The bottom --6-- of a cap-7- to be pushed onto the nozzle-2-serves as a baffle wall.
The number and size of the outlet openings depend on the smoking product and must be determined through tests.
The smoke attracted by the mouthpiece passes through the upper edge-4-d. H. the wide part of the nozzle, is pre-compressed by the narrow part - 2 '- and passes through the

Tar droplets cannot join in the change in direction of the smoke path, but are thrown onto the impact surface --6-- and settle there.
The smoke that is now expanding, from which most of the harmful substances have been withdrawn, is also advantageously passed through a conventional textile or paper filter.
In the case of cigarettes, the inner wall of the cigarette mouthpiece-6-is advantageously used as the baffle and cooling surface.
