Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf Bodenkammerschrapnells, d. h. solche Shrapnells, deren Ladung im Bodenteil des Geschosses untergebracht ist. Bei den bekannten Geschossen dieser Art ist der Aufschlagzünder am Kopfe des Geschosses angeordnet. Dies hat zur Folge, das die Ladung eine gewisse Zeit nach dem Aufschlag, d. h. unter Umständen eine Strecke hinter dem Ziel zur Wirkung kommt.
Die Erfindung will nun Bodenkammerschrapnells hinsichtlich ihrer Wirkung beim Aufschlag dahin vervollkommnen, dass sie im Augenblick des Aufschlages zur Wirkung gelangen und hiebei eine kräftige Breitenwirkung äussern.
Auf der Zeichnung ist eine Ausführungsform des Erfindungsgegenstandes im Längsschnitt dargestellt.
Der Hohlraum des Geschosskörpers A, der vorn durch einen Brennzünder B, hinten durch eine Bodenschraube C abgeschlossen ist, wird durch die Treibscheibe D in zwei Kammern geteilt. In der vorderen Kammer sind die Füllgeschosse E und die Zündrohr F untergebracht. In der hinteren starkwandigen Kammer befindet sich die Ladung G, die aus Sprengstoff von solcher Beschaffenheit (z. B. aus rauchlosem Pulver) besteht, dass sie bei genügender Erregung zur Detonation gelangt. In diese Ladung ragt ein in der Bodenschraube C befestigter Aufschlagzünder H hinein. Dessen Zündpille h 1 steht mit einem Detonator J in Verbindung, der durch eine Kapsel K von der Ladung G getrennt ist.
Dieser Detonator ist dazu bestimmt, die Ladung G beim Aufschlag des Geschosses zur Detonation zu bringen.
Infolge dieser Anordnung wird die Ladung G unmittelbar beim Aufschlag des Geschosses zur Detonation gebracht, d. h. der Geschosskörper zersprengt. Das Geschoss äussert somit im Augenblick des Aufschlages eine kräftige Breitenwirkung durch die Sprengstücke des Geschosskörpers. Dieser Umstand macht das Geschoss besonders geeignet zur Bekämpfung der mit Schutzschilden ausgerüsteten Feldgeschütze.
Wie das Geschoss beim Brennzünderschuss wirkt, ergibt sich ohne weiteres.

The invention relates to bottom chamber shrapnel, i.e. H. those shrapnells whose cargo is housed in the bottom part of the projectile. In the known projectiles of this type, the percussion fuse is arranged at the head of the projectile. The consequence of this is that the cargo will be charged a certain time after the impact, i.e. H. possibly a distance behind the target comes into effect.
The invention now wants to perfect floor chamber shrapnel with regard to their effect on impact in such a way that they come into effect at the moment of impact and thereby exert a powerful broad effect.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown in longitudinal section.
The cavity of the projectile body A, which is closed at the front by a burner B and at the rear by a floor screw C, is divided into two chambers by the traction sheave D. The filling projectiles E and the ignition tube F are housed in the front chamber. In the rear thick-walled chamber is the charge G, which consists of explosives of such a nature (e.g. smokeless powder) that it detonates if sufficiently excited. An impact fuse H fastened in the ground screw C protrudes into this charge. Its squib h 1 is connected to a detonator J, which is separated from the charge G by a capsule K.
This detonator is designed to detonate charge G when the projectile hits it.
As a result of this arrangement, the charge G is detonated immediately upon impact of the projectile; H. the projectile bursts. At the moment of impact, the projectile thus expresses a powerful width effect due to the explosives of the projectile body. This fact makes the projectile particularly suitable for fighting field guns equipped with protective shields.
It is easy to see how the projectile works when fired with a flame fuse.
