Materials erzielt.

A large amount of water is necessary, so that a lot of usable water is lost due to the rinsing process, which is often necessary due to the small volume of material that can be deposited.
The system according to the invention does not have the disadvantages mentioned or only to a significantly reduced extent. Above all, constant settling conditions are achieved regardless of the amount of material already settled, a relatively large material absorption capacity of the settling chamber, therefore less flushing, low water requirements for the individual flushing process and an effective full flushing of the settled sand or material.
The invention is based on the knowledge that a prerequisite for constant
Settling conditions is the maintenance of the full flow cross-section of the settling chamber and an effective d. H. full rinsing of the deposited material can only be achieved if it lies on a sufficiently smooth and sufficiently inclined surface from which it is able to slide under the influence of the flowing water. In order to achieve the most water-saving and safe removal of all of the material deposited in the chamber, the hydraulically most favorable form of the system and especially the inlet funnel was ensured.
Furthermore, according to the invention, measures were taken to ensure a flow that is as laminar as possible in the area of the desanding plant, in particular the settling chamber, since turbulence affects the removal of the material. The most favorable form of the system was determined through model tests.
The invention accordingly relates to a system for the at least partially automatic desanding of channels, which has a chamber located in the course of the channel, recessed opposite the channel bottom, for settling the material (sand, gravel) carried along by the channel, at the bottom of which an opening is provided which has a locking element that preferably opens automatically (depending on the load) and is characterized by the combination of the following features:
That the closure member is watertight, that the chamber walls adjoining the closure member form an angle between about 35 and 55 with the horizontal and that a rake-like horizontal chamber subdivision is provided between these inclined chamber walls, over which one or more vertical guide walls are optionally arranged.
The system is preferably designed to be fully automatic, i. H. the material deposited in the chamber is automatically rinsed out, this being done as a function of the amount of material deposited. This effect is achieved by means of a weighing mechanism connected to the closure member, the closure member being designed as a flap or other known configurations that may be considered.
The laminar flow in the region of the chamber desired in the context of the invention and the maintenance of a constant flow cross-section despite the deposition of material in the chamber is achieved by the horizontal rake-like chamber subdivision according to the invention. This chamber subdivision, the individual passage cross-sections of which are dimensioned so that the largest material still carried along can easily fall through, separates the upper chamber part through which there is flow from the lower chamber space, which is variable due to the material deposition.
The chamber subdivision can be preceded by vertical rakes.
Further measures according to the invention are explained below with reference to the drawing, which schematically shows the longitudinal section of an exemplary system according to the invention.
In the drawing, -S-denotes the bottom of the channel or the chamber, -B-the concreted bed of the system, -TW1 and TW-the walls of a recess adjoining the floor opening with a flap-K-, which is a settling chamber and a desanding chamber
EMI2.1
The desanding chamber is always emptied in good time, d. H. the material is flushed out before it grows into the area of the settling chamber. For this purpose, in the case of a fully automatic system, the opening mechanism of the closing organ - K - is coordinated so that the sand is flushed out in good time.
Otherwise, corresponding monitoring would be necessary, based on the result of which the closing body would have to be opened.

an angle a1 or a2. These angles are assumed here to be 450 and, according to the invention, are in the range between 35 and 550, although a greater steepness is conceivable, but results in a not so favorable shape of the chamber. Depending on the grain size to be separated, the inclination of the wall within the specified range is greater or smaller, with the type and roughness of the concrete used also playing a role. - WS- indicates the water level of the watercourse.
A flap-K- and a counterweight-G- are attached to a shaft marked with --W--. Instead of the counterweight-G-, any adjustment or opening mechanism or closing mechanism could be present, in particular one that allows the closing element to open when a certain material load is reached, ie. H. caused by a certain weight on the closing organ.
It can be useful to have the flap opened and closed by two separate devices.
--AR- refers to the so-called rinsing room, from which the material is preferably flushed directly into the open, which requires that the channel is routed on a dam or along a slope. Guide walls, which are necessary from a certain width of the chamber and are intended to keep the flow laminar, are omitted in the exemplary embodiment and are arranged in front of or in the area of the horizontal rake-HR-.
