beliebigeZugorgan, z.
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>

any pulling element, e.g. B. a chain made of ferromagnetic material is provided, which can be set in rotary motion and grinds over the funnel-shaped wall that connects the lowest part of the first compartment with the drain opening. This can prevent the
Dust forms a bridge across the drain opening.
An embodiment of the invention is explained in more detail below with reference to the drawings. In the drawings, FIG. 1 shows an axial section through a dust separator with a vertical housing wall, and FIG. 2 shows a cross section along line II-II of FIG.
The device shown has a housing 1, which or by a plate 2. Like. In two
Divisions, namely a first lower division 3 and a second upper division 4 is divided. The lowest part of the first compartment 3 has the shape of a funnel 5, to which a drain opening 6 connects via a rotary valve 7. An air inlet duct 8 opens tangentially into the interior of the first compartment 3 and the dust-laden air enters the device through this air inlet duct 8. An air outlet pipe 9 connects a suction fan (not shown) with the second
Compartment 4, which fan causes the air to pass from the first compartment to the second compartment in the manner described below.
A centrifugal fan 10, which is seated on the shaft 11, is easily rotatably mounted on roller bearings 12 within the second compartment 4 and with a drive motor 13 via a flexible
Coupling 14 connected. The centrifugal fan 10 has a housing 15 of double cone
Shape which, freely rotatable about the fan shaft 11, is mounted on this shaft by means of roller bearings 16. An air distributor 17 is assembled with the housing 15 and ends in two blow nozzles 18 which are directed downwards towards the first compartment 3. When the centrifugal fan is rotating within compartment 4, it sucks in air from this compartment and pushes it
Air, which is compressed by the centrifugal effect, into the distributor 17 and into the blow nozzles 18.
During this time, both the centrifugal force and the friction between the fan housing 15 and the air, which is set in rotation by the fan 10, cause the housing (and consequently also the air distributor and the blower nozzles) to revolve around the fan axis 11 start spinning. The nozzles 18 are continuously in operation during the rotation of the fan and during each rotation blow air one after the other into the open ends 19 of the sleeves 20 made of filter material, which are carried by the partition plate 2 and through the first compartment 3 extend. The narrowest point of the air jet from the blower nozzles is at or slightly above the level of the plate 2, the jet then expands downwards to such an extent that it
Cross section of the sleeves 20 fills a few centimeters below the inlet opening 19.
The lower
The ends of the filter sleeves are closed off by disks made of fabric and the sleeves are supported on the inside by wire cages 22.
As can best be seen from FIG. 2, the openings 19 in the partition plate 2, to which the filter sleeves 20 adjoin, are arranged in two circular rings around the shaft 11 of the centrifugal fan 10, being evenly distributed over the circumference. Each circle of openings is served by a separate blow nozzle 18. In practice there are several sizes of
Filter devices provided which have a plurality of filter sleeves. In the smallest device (with the smallest number of filter sleeves) the openings to which the open ends of the filter sleeves adjoin are arranged in a single circle, while in the larger versions the openings are made in two, three or more concentric circles .
As already said above, each circle of openings is served by its own air nozzle, so that in a device in which z. B. three circles of openings are arranged. the air distributor also has three separate air nozzles.
The mode of operation of the filter device is as follows: The dust-laden air is fed to the first compartment 3 under the action of a suction fan (not shown) which is then attached in the outlet line 9, which goes out from the second compartment. Since the air that enters through the tangentially attached air inlet 8 is subject to a cyclonic effect from the start, the heavier dust particles are centrifuged out and deposited in the funnel 5 and can be removed through the outlet 6 by actuating the rotary valve 7. The dust-laden air that has entered through the inlet port 8 is then sucked into the filter sleeves 20, with the finer dust particles being deposited on the fabric of the filter sleeves.
The air then flows further into the second compartment 4, from where part of the pure, filtered air goes out on the way via the outlet nozzle 9 and another part of the pure air enters the housing of the centrifugal fan 15 (through corresponding openings), and the Air distributor 17 are supplied. That the
Air distributor 17 rotates together with the fan housing 15, air is under constant or
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
approximately constant pressure is blown through the nozzles 18 into each individual filter sleeve 20 one after the other as it rotates. As you can see, this air is blown in in the opposite direction
Direction like the airway described above from the first compartment 3 to the second compartment 4.
The fine dust particles which have attached themselves to the outside of the filter sleeves 20 are therefore removed again and brought to fall into the funnel 5, from where they can be drained off in the manner described. This knocking off of the fine dust particles from the fabric of the filter sleeves is mainly caused by the speed of the blown air itself. The
However, the knockdown effect is also significantly supported by the fact that the pressure of the air coming from the nozzles inflates the individual nozzles one after the other like a balloon over the wire cage 22. The subsequent return of the fabric of the filter sleeves to the initial position on the cage 22 as soon as the blow nozzle has passed again completes the mechanical knock-off effect which occurs in the sleeves 20.
Because the air nozzles rotate continuously and each only for a very short period of time
Total rotation cooperates with a specific sleeve, at no point in time is more than a very small part of the total capacity of the filter device ineffective. The speed of the rotation of the air distributor can, if desired, be regulated, u. zw. By a braking device that works together with a gear wheel 23 which is attached to the upper roller bearing 16.
According to another embodiment, if the air distributor 17 is not to be driven by the centrifugal force of the fan 10, as described above, the gear wheel 23 can be connected via a pinion 24 to a shaft 25, which can be selected by an electric motor 26
Number of revolutions is driven.
It is known that the dust particles have a tendency to agglomerate and adhere to the inside of the funnel 5, and a dust bridge can gradually form over the outlet opening 6. To counteract this, two flexible tension members 27 are attached, which are set in rotation outside the first compartment 3 so that they continuously wipe over the inside of the funnel during operation of the filter device. The tension members 27 are attached to the opposite ends of a diametrically arranged rod 28 which is rotatably mounted on a carrier 30 by means of a central pin 29.
Air vanes 31 are attached to the outer ends of the rod 28, so that this rod together with the flexible tension members 27 is also set in rotary motion by the air coming from the tangential inlet opening 8 and rotating in the compartment 3. The rod 28 can of course also by any other drive means, e.g. B. by the motor 13, are set in rotation.
The flexible tension members 27 are preferably as chains made of ferromagnetic material, for. B. made of stainless steel. In this way it is easily possible to pull these chains out of the dust deposit by means of a magnet if they should have become detached from the rod 28.
In the embodiment described, a suction fan connects to the outlet nozzle 9, which causes the air to flow into the first compartment 3 and flow on into the second compartment 4. The same effect can, however, also be achieved by a pressure fan which is attached in front of the inflow opening 8, in which case the suction fan mentioned can be omitted.
Although the embodiment described relates to a filter device with a vertically arranged housing, in which the second compartment 4 is immediately above the first compartment, so that the removal of the dust by gravity is facilitated, the invention can also be applied to filter devices which are horizontal are arranged by arranging the first and second compartments horizontally side by side. In the latter case, the filter sleeves naturally also extend in the horizontal direction and are held in this position by appropriate devices at their ends. In addition, suitable devices are provided in this case to remove the separated dust from the first compartment.
Such suitable means for removing the dust are, for example, a screw conveyor or a conveyor chain, which are suitably installed in the first compartment.
