Fassung für Gasglühkörper.
Es sind bereits metallene Aufhängevorrichtungen für Gasglühkörper (Glühstrümpfe) bekannt ; dieselben haben sich nicht bewährt. Es wurde versucht, die Gasgiühkörpcr mit den metallenen Aufbängeplatten so zu vereinigen, dass die Strümpfe zwischen metallenen Platten in fester Verbindung gefasst wurden. Aber alle hiebei für die Platten zunächst in Betracht kommenden Metalle, insbesondere Eisen, Nickel und Kupfer sind zu diesem Zwecke nicht geeignet ; entweder wird der Strumpf dadurch weniger haltbar oder aber die Fassungsplatten werden durch die Flamme zu schnell zerstört.
Es wurde nun bereits versucht, den letzteren Übelstand zu beseitigen, indem die zur Fassung der Strümpfe dienenden Metallplatten aus Metallblech hergestellt wurden, welches mit Aluminium plattiert war : auch diese Massnahme genügt nicht ohne weiteres, um die vorhandenen Übelstände voll- ständig zu beseitigen. There are already metal suspension devices for gas incandescent bodies (incandescent mantles) known; the same have not proven themselves. An attempt was made to unite the gas guillotines with the metal suspension plates in such a way that the stockings were firmly held between metal plates. But all of the metals that are initially considered for the plates, especially iron, nickel and copper, are not suitable for this purpose; either the stocking becomes less durable or the frame plates are destroyed too quickly by the flame.
