Im unteren Teile der Behälter 1 und 2 ist an beliebiger Stelle zum Entfernen der Fäkalien eine Öffnung 25 vorgesehen, welche durch einen Deckel oder Schieber 40, der an der Innenfläche mit einer Asbestplatte bedeckt ist, verschliessbar ist. An der Innenfläche des Deckels 8 ist eine zwecks vollständigen Verschlusses der Öffnungen 12 bezw. 14 bestimmte Verschlussplatte 26 angeordnet. Auf dem um ein Scharnier 27 drehbaren Deckel 8 ist ein Flacheisen 28 befestigt, dessen vorderes Ende zu einem Verschlusshaken 29 und dessen rückwärtiges Ende zu einer Nase 30 ausgebildet ist.
An der rückwärtigen Seite des Behälters 1 ist eine zum selbsttätigen Schliessen des Deckels 8 bestimmte Blattfeder 31 angebracht, gegen welche bei aufgeklapptem Deckel die Nase 30 druckt. Um die Feststellung des Deckels 8 im geöffneten Zustande zu ermöglichen, ist eine, ans einem Hebewerk bestehende Arretiervorrichtung vorgesehen.
