Torsion-resistant isolator
When designing insulators, special attention must be paid to the design of the ends that transmit the mechanical stress to the insulating body. It is known that for this purpose the diameter of the insulator trunk is advantageously increased increasingly in the direction towards the end. This rotationally symmetrical, increasing expansion of the insulator end can be designed, for example, as a cone, but the generating line of the rotationally symmetrical expansion can also be any other line instead of a straight line, e.g. B. be a parabola. There are also versions

right to the isolator axis is interrupted.
For insulators with which torsional forces are to be transmitted, the torsional force that can be achieved is determined by the frictional connection between the insulator, any cemented surface and the fitting due to the rotationally symmetrical design. When the insulator end is designed with a smooth surface, the controllable torsional forces are relatively low. It is known to form insulator ends with corrugations or sand to increase the friction. The notch effects that then occur can, however, under certain circumstances prevent the strength of the insulating body from being fully utilized.
The invention relates to a modification of the axially symmetrical, expanding design of the insulator ends, which is in and of itself extremely favorable for power transmission. The invention consists in that in a torsion loadable isolator with at least one against the isolator end widening, z. B. conical end part, one or more sections are separated from the one or more rotationally symmetrical end parts to the insulator end, the individual cut surfaces having such a position that of each of them only part of the. Generating the insulator body end is cut. As a result, the rotationally symmetrical shape is interrupted, and there are contact surfaces that are particularly suitable for the transmission of torsional forces.
Exemplary embodiments of the subject matter of the invention are shown in the drawing. Figures 1, 3, 5, 7, 9 and 11 show different designs of insulator ends in front view and Figures 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 show the associated top views, respectively. In Figs. 4 and 12, the screens shown in Figs. 3 and 11 are omitted.
According to FIGS. 1 and 2, four sections 2-5 are cut away from a conical insulator end 1 shown in broken lines through planes parallel to the insulator axis, the sections extending over the entire height h of the conical end 1. A hyperload 6 results as the boundary line of the sections.
According to FIGS. 3 and 4, the sections 7-10 extend only over part of the cone height h, the planes each being parallel to one of the cone-generating elements. The boundary lines 11 are parabolas.
In FIGS. 5 and 6, the sections 13-16 again extend only over part of the total cone height h, the angle of the cutting plane to the isolator axis being greater than that of the generators of the cone 1. The boundary line 12 of the sections 13-16 is an elliptical part in this case. Of the

The angle of inclination of the cutting plane and the height h ″ of the sections are selected so that a cutting plane only intersects part of the generatrix of the cone 1.
7 and 8 show the embodiment in which the sections of the cone 1 are not made by planes, but by curved surfaces; In the example shown, these are circular cylinders whose axis runs parallel to the cone axis. The cylindrical sections 17-20 are therefore created, the height of which corresponds to the height h of the cone 1.
9 and 10 show an example in which the widening end 21 is designed to be rotationally symmetrical with a curved generatrix and the boundary surfaces of the sections 22-25 are cylindrical surfaces whose axes are e.g. B. 26 each run perpendicular to the isolator axis 27. In other possible designs, the axes could also run skewed to one another.
Finally, FIGS. 11 and 12 show an embodiment in which the insulator end has three sections 30-32, which are produced by cutting with a three-surface cylinder, the surface lines of which are parallel to the insulator axis and the base of which is an arc-triangle, in which the distance

Terten end can also be made with surfaces that are curved in such a way that at least some horizontal sections result in Reuleaux triangles.
It can be seen from all the figures that each individual section extends only over part of the generatrix of the insulator end. According to FIGS. 3 - 6, part of the cone 1, according to FIGS. 9 and 10, part of the rotationally symmetrical end 21 is retained over the entire circumference.
In practical implementation, corners and edges of the sections can be rounded for technological reasons.
