Process for continuously progressive lifting and
Tamping of tracks
More recently, it has proven to be advantageous to carry out the correction of a track with the help of a track tamping machine that moves step by step from sleeper to sleeper, which is equipped with track jacks on its front, in order to initially bring the track to the correct height and then with help to fix the tamping tools in this position. This process is carried out continuously and progressively at each individual sleeper, whereby it is of course essential that the respective raised and tamped sleeper actually maintains its correct position when the tamping machine lets go of the raised track in order to continue to the next sleeper.
There is a certain deficiency in that the track experiences a certain elastic bend when it is lifted by the track lifter and, as soon as it is released, hits the ballast bed just compacted under the influence of the elasticity of the rail with the raised and tamped sleeper, so that the gravel settles below the threshold, even if only slightly, and the threshold no longer rests at the correct altitude.
The aim of the invention is to remedy this inconvenience and uses a track tamping machine that moves step by step from sleeper to sleeper and at least two track lifting devices arranged on the front of the same, of which at least one is in function.
Such devices are already known and comprised two track lifting devices which could be moved independently of one another along a boom and which were used alternately, whereby care had to be taken that they did not interfere with one another and that they did not interfere with the advancement of the track tamping machine. A sensible regulation of the alternating use of these track lifting devices was relatively difficult and had to be created on a case-by-case basis.
In contrast, the invention provides that the track lifting device closer to the tamping unit holds the track up only during the tamping process and is moved freely while the machine is advancing to the next sleeper, whereas the track lifting device further away from the tamping unit holds the track up while the machine is advancing to the next sleeper is moved forward by a threshold distance during the stuffing process. This constant change in the function of the two track lifting devices is quite regular and is therefore easy to control and easy to automate depending on the step-by-step movement of the machine.
Another advantage is that the track lifting device closer to the tamping unit can be arranged at a constant distance from the tamping tools, whereas the track lifting device further away from the track tamping unit has a variable distance therefrom, for example by being arranged on a mobile cart and connected to the machine via a variable-length coupling .

A preferred embodiment of the invention is shown in the single figure of the drawing, where 1 denotes the chassis frame of a track tamping machine of conventional design, which is equipped with a vertically movable tamping unit 2 and is moved on track 3 from sleeper to sleeper 4 to move the ballast 5 to compress below these thresholds 4.
At the end of the chassis frame 1 of this machine, a track lifting device 6 is arbitrary
Design attached; there is also a height-adjustable measuring staff 7 with a display element which is linked to a reference straight line determining the target position of the track, e.g. B. a tension wire 8, works together to ensure compliance with the correct stroke.
Via a variable-length coupling 9 formed from piston and cylinder, this track jack 6 is preceded by a cart 10 which carries a second track jack 11, which is in a known manner in a to
Track axis vertical plane is pivotable, with an extension it engages under a rail and is supported with a stamp against the top of the bedding. This second track lifter 11 can also be equipped with its own control device 12 for monitoring the lifting dimension.
This device works as follows:
As soon as the machine 1 with the tamping tools 2 has reached its working position above a threshold 4, the track lifter 6 begins its activity by grasping the track 3 and raising it to the height that can be monitored with the aid of the measuring rod 7 and the tension wire 8. As soon as the track lifter 6 has gripped the track, the track lifter 11, which has previously held the track, can let go and move on to the next sleeper gap, which is accomplished with the aid of the cylinder of the coupling 9 that can be pressurized with pressure medium.
This forward movement of the front track jacking vehicle 10 takes place during the tamping work and the track jack 11 grips the track 3 at its new location while the tamping tools 2 are still in operation; the activity of the track lifter 11 then takes place under the control of the measuring stick 12.
After the tamping work on the sleeper 4 has been completed, the track lifter 6 closer to the tamping tools 2 can easily let go of the track 3; an elastic recoil of the track cannot take place because it is reliably held by the front track lifter 11. When the machine 1 moves forward, the carriage 10 with the front track jack 11 remains in place, with only the piston pushing forward in the longitudinally variable coupling 9.
Of course, numerous other solutions are also conceivable within the scope of the invention; For example, two mobile track jacks can be arranged in advance of the track tamping machine in overlapping use and used alternately. There is complete freedom with regard to the design of the track lifters themselves.
