dender Zwischenraum 3 liegt.
Fig. 2).

Rotation lock of an expansion anchor slotted over part of its length
EMI1.1

the gap 3 is located. Because the dowel is made from an elastic plastic, it has inherent resilience, so that it can be compressed to the width corresponding to the borehole 5.
As can be seen in FIG. 3, the tongues 2 are provided with protruding teeth 1. These are offset in the longitudinal direction of the dowel in such a way that cutting edges 7 are formed on them which lie in the screwing-in direction of the screw to be driven. In order to make these cutting edges 7 effective, i. H. To achieve their engagement in the dowel hole wall 8, they are arranged in a cross-sectionally elliptical shape of the dowel (see. Fig. 2). The effect of the cutting edges is further increased by the fact that the offset part of the teeth 1 extends almost to the parting plane between the two tongues 2, so that only relatively thin wall thicknesses remain between the teeth 1.
If the dowel is inserted into the borehole 5, the tongues 2 are pressed together to the width of the dowel hole, and they assume the position shown in FIG. As a result of the elliptical dowel cross-section (according to FIG. 5), the cutting edges now step outwards, biting into the masonry and thus ensuring that the dowel is absolutely secured against twisting. This effect is supported by the resilience of the anchor, which presses itself firmly against the wall 8 of the anchor hole.
