Rotation lock of an expansion anchor slotted over part of its length
The invention relates to an anti-rotation device for an expansion anchor slotted over part of its length in the screwing direction of the driven screw, in particular for push-through assemblies.
When it comes to connecting and securing thin panels together, come
Expansion dowels for use, which provide a fixed connection through a relatively short distance
Ensure expansion effect when driving in a screw. A requirement is that the
Secure expansion dowel against twisting. According to the invention, this is achieved in that the dowel has a head which is designed as a thin-walled cone which can be compressed to the diameter of the dowel shaft. The locking effect is increased by providing the cone with a corrugation on its circumference and widening the cross section of the tongues formed by the slots in the dowel towards the front end of the dowel.
In addition, locking tongues can be arranged on the dowel circumference after the front dowel end. The dowel consists of an elastic, tough and non-aging plastic that is clamped against the wall of the dowel hole.
The advantage of such a dowel is that it is not only secured against twisting, but also that the plates to be connected, especially when it comes to sheet metal, not only from the dowel head side, but also behind the drill hole through the expansion effect of the dowel tongues increasing in cross-section are secured against each other.
Further advantages and details emerge from the drawing. 1 shows a view of the anchor, FIG. 2 shows a plan view of the anchor in the direction of arrow A, FIG. 3 shows a view of the anchor after it has been pushed through the plates.
The dowel shown in Fig. 1 consists of two or more tongues 2 formed by slots 1, which are widened in cross-section towards the front end of the dowel. The dowel head represents a cone 3 formed from a thin wall, which is provided on its circumference with a corrugation 3a. In addition, two or more locking tongues 4 to run after the dowel head 3 can be arranged on the dowel circumference.
If the dowel is inserted into the common borehole 5 of the plates 6 and 7, the thin wall3 of the conical dowel head made of an elastic, tough plastic is pressed together and exerts a locking effect on its contact surface 9 when a screw 8 is screwed into the dowel. An additional locking effect against twisting of the dowel is achieved in that the cone 3 is provided with a corrugation 3a on its circumference.
If the plates 6 and 7 are metal sheets, the corrugated conical wall 3 of the dowel head alone would be sufficient for securing the dowel against rotation when the screw 8 is driven in. In this case, however, in order to achieve a spreading effect of the dowel on the side of the plates 6 and 7 facing away from the dowel head, the longitudinal tongues 2 formed by slots in the dowel are widened in their cross section after the front end of the dowel. Such an effect of the spreading immediately behind the plate 7 can be seen from FIG.
