Device for wetting single sheets of photographic
Foil material The subject of the parent patent is a device for wetting single sheets of photographic foil material with a treatment solution, with an applicator roller and a channel-shaped one
Container for the treatment liquid, the application roller forming a narrow gap with one surface in which an inevitably very small amount of the liquid is only held by adhesion and a dropper is provided for feeding the liquid into the gap-shaped container.
It is already known, between an applicator roller and a doctor blade adjacent to it, a type
To form a reservoir in which a larger amount of a treatment liquid can be received. In addition, it is known to distribute a flowable substance as evenly as possible over a roller by means of a doctor blade resting against it.
In the further development of the device according to the parent patent according to the invention, a bar touching the roller and with it forming a container for the liquid is provided in a manner known per se, the bar consisting of a strip of flexible material which is deeper at its lying edge is clamped in a rigid, with respect to the plane of the strip bent version. This creates a contact line between the roller and the strip that slopes down from the kink to both sides, along which the treatment liquid flows off quickly, so that on the one hand there is a rapid distribution of the liquid supplied to the container and on the other hand it is only inevitably very small in the container Amount of the liquid is retained merely by adhesion.
In the accompanying drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown schematically, u. FIG. 1 shows a part of a device for producing photocopies comprising the application roller for the developer, viewed in the axial direction of the roller, and FIG. 2 shows details of the object of FIG. 1 in a perspective representation.
According to FIG. 1, the device has an application roller 1 for the developer, which is mounted in an apparatus housing (not shown), to which application roller the film 2 to be treated is fed by a pair of rollers 3, the rollers 3 'and 3 "of which are motorized at the desired feed speed in the direction indicated by arrows The application roller 1 is, as also indicated in the drawing, driven in the same direction as the roller 3 ″, u. zw. Such that the peripheral speed of the roller is greater than the feed speed of the sheet to be treated. In this way, when the treatment solution is applied to the side of the sheet facing the roller, perfect wetting is achieved.
A strip 4 made of a flexible material, for example plastic, is framed by a mounting strip 5, which is arranged below the applicator roller 1 and extends in the longitudinal direction of the roller, and the arrangement is such that the strip 4 on the roller 1, namely on whose side facing away from the pair of rollers 3 rests and is thereby sharply bent just above the bar 5. Now, however, as can be seen well in FIG. 2, the bar is bent at 6, so that the strip 4 is bent less at the kink 6 than it is to the side of this point. This creates a line of contact 7 between the strip 4 and the roller l. which drops from the kink on both sides.

In. In the upper half of the apparatus housing, not shown, there is a dropper 8, which consists of a storage container 9 which is hermetically sealed by means of a cover 10 made of an elastically flexible material and a feed pipe 11 opening above the application roller 1, namely approximately above the kink 7 having. From this metering device 9, even before the sheet to be treated is introduced into the device, finger pressure on the z. For example, a cover 10 made of rubber, a drop of the treatment solution, in the present case the developer, is dispensed onto the application roller 1 or into the open working container formed by this roller and the strip 4 - denoted by 12 in the drawing.
This drop of liquid is distributed, in particular thanks to the slope on both sides of the line of contact between the strip 4 and the roller 1, i. H. thanks to the two-sided slope of the bottom of the comma-shaped work container 12 instantly in the whole
Length of the roller, the outer surface of which is perfectly wetted. When the film 2 is inserted, its layer side is moistened by the roller 1, the amount of liquid dispensed into the working container 12 being gradually consumed. Any amount of liquid that may still remain in the working container 12 after the treatment of a film can flow off to both sides if the device is temporarily unused. In this way, each leaf is wetted with a fresh treatment solution.
Nevertheless, thanks to the rapid and perfect distribution of the treatment solution supplied to the application roller, the device is immediately ready for use.
It goes without saying that the same organs can be used for applying the stabilizer and, if necessary, other treatment solutions.
