Head and foot ends are formed by caps without corners, which are pre-tied with a middle part, wherein the butt joints between the middle part and the caps can be covered by stiffening straps which are formed at the feet of the lower part of the coffin.
The drawing shows such a coffin in an exemplary embodiment in FIG. 1 in a side view, the lid partially in section, in FIG. 2 in half
EMI1.2
Fig. 4 shows a detail.
The whole coffin, which in the present case has an elliptical cross-section, is made of corrugated iron or zinc sheet and is composed of three parts, of which the middle part resembles a conical socket 1, while the head and foot of cornerless caps 2 resp. 3 is formed.
The butt joints of these parts are covered on the outside of the coffin by stiffening handles 4.7, the straps 4 of the coffin base, i.e. H. of the actual coffin are formed (bent) below at feet 5 and carry handles 6 at their ends or run out into such. The stiffening bands 7 of the coffin lid are connected by a longitudinal band obtained from the coffin material, which is extended to the head end of the coffin, whereby a

to be stiffened especially by straps 10 attached to the inside thereof.
The coffin is provided on its edge in a known manner with a circumferential channel on a U-shaped ice 11 (Fig. 4), into which the lid with its edge stiffened by a square iron 12 is inserted and screwed with screws 13 when the coffin is closed becomes. The coffin is tightly closed by pouring the channel with hlei or in the usual way.
