Vertikal-Kreiselpumpe

Vertical centrifugal pump
The invention relates to vertical centrifugal pumps with a downwardly extended
Pump shaft arranged in the suction pipe of the pump to raise the liquid level when the pump starts up.
In order to achieve a greater suction height or a greater immersion depth in these pumps, which is limited by the downwardly extended shaft, it has already been proposed to arrange a container at the level of the feeder wing into which the suction line opens at the top. When the pump is at a standstill, this container is filled with liquid up to the point at which the suction line joins, while the pump is ventilated.
When the pump starts up, the feeder vane raises the liquid level in the suction pipe to such an extent that the liquid is caught by the feed wheel. The air is pressed out via the open pressure valve and the pressure line. If the pressure slide valve is opened too far, such a large vacuum can develop on the suction side that the pump breaks when it starts up on the suction side.
When these pumps start up, however, difficulties also arise if they are to run against the closed pressure slide valve or, if a check valve is arranged in the pressure line, against the pressure line filled with liquid, because the air in the pump is then backed up and the liquid / air mixture that forms is prevented. that the pump reaches its full capacity in terms of volume and pressure.
These disadvantages in particular are eliminated by the invention. It consists essentially in that the container arranged at the height of the feeder vane is connected at the top by a diversion with the pressure side of the pump, so that when the pump starts up, the air is pressed out of the pump and into the container without resistance. Another feature of the invention is that an injector, fed by the pressure side of the pump, is arranged in the bypass to suck the air out of the container.
In the drawing, an embodiment of the subject invention is shown in section.
A propeller c is provided in the suction pipe b on the downwardly extended pump shaft a. A container d is arranged around the suction pipe, into which the suction line e opens at the top. When the pump is at a standstill, the container d is filled with liquid. When the pump starts up, the vane c raises the liquid level in the suction pipe b to such an extent that the liquid is caught by the feed wheel f of the pump.
In order to prevent the air from accumulating in the pump when the pressure slide g is closed or when a non-return valve is arranged, the column of liquid in the pressure line rests on the valve, according to the invention a connecting line h is provided between the pressure side of the pump and the upper part of the Container d is provided, through which the air is forced out of the pump during start-up and into the container without appreciable resistance. As soon as the pump is filled with liquid after the air has escaped and has reached its full capacity in terms of quantity and pressure, the line h is then blocked against backflow of air by the liquid flowing through.
This amount of liquid flowing back can be used by switching on an injector i to suck the air out of the upper part of the container. This is particularly advantageous when the sucked-in conveying liquid entrains gases that are separated out in the container.
