Manufacturing process for seamless, consistently equally strong metal vessels with a retracted neck.

The subject of the present invention is a manufacturing process for seamless, consistently thick metal vessels with a retracted neck, which consists in first producing a sleeve of unequal wall thickness from sheet metal, then pulling it in gradually to the desired neck width at the open, thin-walled end by pressing it into a drawing die then the thick-walled sleeve part that has not been retracted is expanded in whole or in part in two-part hollow shapes to the desired vessel shape, the thickest portion of the sleeve being brought to the wall thickness of the retracted part.

In the drawing: FIG. 1 shows a vertical section of the metal sleeve and of the pulling iron used for drawing in the same. Mandrel, Fig. 2 is a similar section, which illustrates the gradual progressive retraction of the sleeve. 3 and 4 show the gradual expansion of the sleeve in two-part hollow molds.

First, a sleeve A is made from sheet metal, which is held too thin-walled towards its open end. The thin-walled sleeve part is drawn in to form the Gcfässnecks, and this is done in the known way that the thin-walled sleeve part is gradually driven through a series of increasingly narrowing drawing dies B with angled hole edge &, the sleeve from a protruding into the drawing hole Mandrel C, which protrudes from the edge of the hole by the measure of the wall thickness of the sleeve j4, is guided and supported on the inside.

The sleeve drawn in in this way is then brought into a two-part mold E, the part of which nestles exactly against the drawn-in sleeve part, and then the stronger sleeve part by using a known part brought into the sleeve) -

expanded, whereby the metal is stretched so far that the expanded part of the vessel has the same wall thickness as the retracted part.

Needless to say, other vessel shapes than the one drawn are also made in the manner described, as well as the enlarged vessel parts
