Agent against moths and textile pests
A number of halogenated sulfonic acid amides are already known which are suitable for protecting keratinous material against insect damage. However, this protective effect is by no means peculiar to all such compounds, but is limited to very specific individuals or groups of closely related compounds and even minor changes in the molecule, such as e.g. B. the introduction of a new substituent or just a different arrangement of the substituents, are able to make the effectiveness of a good moth repellent completely disappear or greatly impair it.

In the course of very extensive investigations, some new, not yet described, chlorine-containing sulfonic acid amides have now been found which are outstandingly suitable for protecting keratin-containing material against insect damage.

The agents according to the invention are used in a known manner. To protect wool and textiles containing wool, these are either impregnated by treatment with aqueous liquors that contain the agent as an emulsion or suspension or in solution, or with organic solutions in the chemical wash type.

The novel sulfonic acid amides according to the invention can be obtained in a simple manner by melting the sulfonic acid chlorides together with the amines in question.
