should be strengthened, can be pierced. The bracket is usually made of metal wire or
Made of sheet metal, brackets made of sheet metal are particularly well suited for the present case.
The end stop is preferably shaped in such a way that the tips bent towards one another come to lie next to one another in one plane at the ends of the legs.
Except for the known helical or spiral wire zippers, the end stop according to the invention can also be used with the newer types of zippers in which each row of locking links is formed by a wire bent in a meander shape and placed on the edge of the support tape .
The invention is described below with reference to an embodiment of a z. B. on a zipper of the type described last explained in more detail. Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the end stop as an individual part. FIG. 2 shows a perspective view of the end section of a zip fastener link strand with an end stop according to the invention. In FIG. 3, a part of a zip link strand with a partially removed cover strip is shown in a view from below, and FIG. 4 is a cross section through the zip link strand along the line IV-IV in FIG. 3.
In the illustrated embodiment, a number of locking members 3 and two strips 4 partially covering these members are attached to a fastener tape 1 by a seam 2. The end stop 5 has a fairly wide web 51 and two tapered legs 52. It can be made in the usual way from a strip of suitable material, e.g. B. metal, be made. The end stop 5 is fastened to the zipper tape 1 in such a way that the wide web 51 rests against the upper cover strip 4 and engages with one of its legs 52 between two locking members 31 and 32. The second leg 52 passes through the band 1 and the pointed end of this leg is bent over on the underside of the band so that it rests against the lower cover strip and comes to rest next to the pointed end of the first leg 52.
This end stop can of course also be attached to a zipper of the type described above, which has no or only one cover strip, or to another zipper of this general type designed in a modified design.
The end stop according to the invention can also be used on zippers with locking members formed by a wire helix and in this case is particularly suitable for zippers of the type in which the pitch sections are largely limited to the rear part of the helix so that the locking members forming the locking members Sections of all turns of the helix lie in a common plane.
When attaching the end stop to the zipper link strand, instead of the leg described, the web of the end stop can, if desired, be brought into contact with the wire part extending between two adjacent locking elements, i.e. H. the end stop can be rotated as a whole with respect to the position illustrated in FIGS. 2-4.
