Spray electrode system for electrostatic precipitators
The invention relates to a spray electrode system for electrostatic precipitators (electrostatic precipitators) in which the electrodes are arranged in parallel rows and each spray electrode consists of a stiffened plate electrode equipped with protruding tips.
To increase the spray effect, it is already known to provide such electrodes with toothed strips or special tip elements which are welded to the electrodes. However, this does not represent a good solution to the problem because the weld points give rise to signs of corrosion and, moreover, because the measures described make the manufacture of the spray electrodes more difficult and expensive.
The invention aims to solve the problem of increasing the spray effect in a simpler way. A spray electrode system according to the invention of the type described in the introduction is characterized in that each essentially flat plate forming a spray electrode is bent at both of its longitudinal edges so that a stiffening strip is produced on each longitudinal edge of the plate, which is essentially at right angles to the plate plane extends, and that along these stiffening strips pointed spray flaps are punched out of the plate material and bent out approximately perpendicular to the plane of the plate. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, pointed spray tabs pointing in opposite directions are arranged on both longitudinal edges of the stiffening strip of the spray electrode.
The invention will now be explained with reference to the drawing, in which an embodiment is shown. 1 shows a horizontal section through an electrostatic precipitator with spray electrodes according to the invention, FIG. 2 is a section along the line II-II in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 shows a side view, seen from line 11-111 in FIG. 2, while finally FIG. 4 shows a horizontal cross section along line IV-IV in FIG.
The electrostatic separator 1 shown in the drawing has a housing 2 through which the gas flows in the horizontal direction, entering at inlet 3 and leaving the separator at outlet 4. Precipitation electrodes 5 are provided in parallel rows within the housing and consist of flat plates bent over at their edges for stiffening. Spray electrodes 6 are arranged in a similar manner between these rows of precipitation electrodes. According to the invention, these spray electrodes each consist of a flat plate which is bent over at its two longitudinal edges in such a way that stiffening strips 8 are formed at these edges, which run essentially at right angles to the plane of the plate.
The pointed spray tabs 7 are arranged in rows along these stiffening strips 8 of the spray electrodes. As FIG. 4 clearly shows, the spray flaps 7 are preferably arranged in opposite directions on both edges of each stiffening strip 7. The spray rags are punched from the sheet material and bent out.
