EMI1.1
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

is a core element that the plate covering the upper wall surface is provided with side walls protruding from it, which cover the side walls of the blow channel.
Finally, it can be expedient to use surface parts of those provided in the jacket of the blow head
Make the air outlet opening smooth and insensitive to moisture in order to prevent the
The riving knife and the walls surrounding the cutting edge slow down the wind. Such braking is favored if the walls surrounding the riving knife and the cutting edge are made of a moisture-sensitive material, e.g. B. wood, because then the swelling of the wood creates a rough surface.
In this case, the side walls of the air outlet opening in the area of the opening of the plate and / or the cutting edge can be covered by tabs provided on the plate.
The side walls of the plate can sit on grooves in the core of the mouthpiece. These grooves serve as a guide when inserting the core so that the surface of the core, which delimits the blow channel downwards, is in the correct position in relation to the cutting edge.
In the drawing, the subject of the invention is shown using the example of a recorder head in various embodiments and scales. 1 shows an axial section through a recorder head, FIG. 2 shows a cross section along line II-II in FIG. 1, FIG. 3 shows a diagrammatic representation of the plate on a larger scale, FIG. 4 shows a longitudinal section through the plate according to FIG line
IV-IV of FIG. 3 on an even larger scale, FIG. 5 shows an axial section through the recorder head with a second embodiment of the plate, FIG. 6 shows a cross section along the line VI-VI of FIG. 5, FIG. 7 shows a diagrammatic representation of FIG second embodiment of the plate on a larger scale, FIG. 8 shows a longitudinal section through the plate according to the line VIII-Vm of FIG.
7 on an even larger scale, FIGS. 9, 11 and 13 partial axial sections through the recorder head with different embodiments of the plate, FIGS. 10, 12 and 14 associated diagrammatic representations of the plate, each on a larger scale.
The recorder head 1, to which the tube 2 is connected, has an axial bore 3. A core 4 made of wood is used on the mouthpiece and leaves a blow channel 5 free. This blow channel opens into an air outlet opening 6 which is provided in the jacket of the recorder head and which is delimited in the blowing direction by a riving knife 7 which has a cutting edge 8 at its tip, towards which the air stream flowing through the blow channel is directed. In the example shown, the. the blow channel 5 upwardly delimiting the wall surface covered with a plate 9, which consists of a moisture-insensitive material and has an opening 10 which. is limited by the cutting edge 8 in the blowing direction.
At the end at which the cutting edge 8 is located, the plate 9 is made strong, so that the cutting edge is located below the lower surface of the plate 9, that is to say in the extension of the blow channel 5.
The embodiment according to FIGS. 5-8 differs from the embodiment according to FIGS. 1 to 4 in that the plate 9 'provided with the opening 10' and the cutting edge 8 'is provided with side walls 11 protruding from it, preferably at right angles , which cover the walls of the blow channel 5, which are adjacent to the wall covered by the plate 9 'and delimiting the top of the blow channel 5. In this embodiment of the plate 9 ′, which is U-shaped in cross section, the side walls 11 thereof sit on grooves 12 of the core 4.
FIGS. 9-14 show embodiments in which a plate 9 ′ in the manner of plate 9 is provided with tabs in continuation of the side walls 11 in the opposite direction. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 9 and 10, the tabs 15 cover the side walls of the air opening 6 in the area of the opening 10 of the plate and in the area of the cutting edge 8. In the embodiment according to FIGS. 11 and 12, the tabs 13 cover the side walls of the air opening 6 only in the area of the cutting edge 8, and in the embodiment according to FIGS. 13 and 14, the tabs 14 cover the side walls of the air opening 6 only in the area of the opening 10 of the plate 9 '.
In the cases of FIGS. 11-14, the tabs 13 or 14 can be approximately semi-cylindrical, and the semi-cylinders can continue on the walls 11. The walls of the air opening 6 are then worked out accordingly in the area of the tabs 13 and 14, respectively.
The features of the invention are also applicable to other sound generators in which cutting edges are blown.
