Process for the polymerization and / or copolymerization of polar compounds containing an ethylene double bond
The present invention relates to a process for the polymerization and / or copolymerization of polar compounds containing an ethylene double bond and the polymers or copolymers obtained by this process. In the process according to the invention, new, particularly effective catalysts based on organic boron derivatives are used.
The inventive method consists in that one compounds of the general formula

The process according to the invention is described in more detail below using non-limiting examples.
Example 1: 60 g of liquid vinyl chloride cooled to -700C and 1 g of tert-butyl boric acid are placed in a test tube made of Pyrex glass. The sample tube is then melted shut in the flame and placed in a thermostatic bath kept at 250C. After 20 hours, polyvinyl chloride is obtained in a yield of 80%.
Example 2: The procedure is as in Example 1, but instead of tert. -Butylboric acid 1 g of the trimeric cyclic anhydride of tert-butylboronic acid is used. After 4 hours, polyvinyl chloride is obtained in a yield of 9Cf1 / o.
