<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Shutter drive for mechanical looms
The invention relates to a sash drive for mechanical looms with a three-part sash.
The middle part of the sash consisting of the reed and the shuttle track is set in a reciprocating motion in the usual way by two crankshafts and connecting rods. With the known shop drives of this type, only a delay in the shop movement is achieved. The invention strives for the longest possible standstill of the drawer if it corresponds to the laterally fixed fuselage in order to improve the function of the chair.
According to the invention, this back and forth movement with the rest periods is achieved by connecting the connecting rod of one crankshaft directly to one end of a connecting link and possibly a straight or angled rocker and a further connecting link with the upper part of the drawer articulated or directly linked to the latter
Intermediate lever is articulated, and that the connecting rod of the second crankshaft running at half the speed of the first crankshaft engages a point located between the two ends of the intermediate lever, so that both articulation points only perform back and forth movements.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the connecting rod of the crankshaft running at half speed is articulated directly to one end of the rocker, the other end of which is articulated by means of a connecting link at a point located between the two ends of the intermediate lever, the upper free end of the intermediate lever with is connected to the upper part of the drawer closest to the reed and the crankshaft, which runs at double speed, engages at the lower free end of the intermediate lever by means of its connecting rod.
In the three figures of the drawings, the features of the invention are illustrated, for example, in a schematic representation, three different embodiments, which are within the scope of the invention, each shown in side view.
The following reference numbers are common to all figures and have the following meaning: 5 denotes one of the lateral ones. Shop stilts, which carry the ark 6, 7, where 6 denotes the rifle track and 7 the reed. 8 is a pivot pin for the shop stilts 5 and 9 or 9 'are connecting links between an intermediate lever 14 and the lateral shop stilt 5, except in FIG. 2, in which this connecting link is omitted. 10 is a point of articulation on the intermediate lever 14 for a connecting rod 13 (FIGS. 1 and 2) or the connecting links 9 (FIG. 3). 12 illustrates a crankshaft that moves the connecting rod 13. 11 is a crankshaft which moves a connecting rod 17 which engages at the (only in FIG. 1) just guided end point 15 of the intermediate lever 14.
The other end point 16 of the intermediate lever 14 is connected in an articulated manner according to FIG. 1 via the connecting link 9, a rocker 18 and the connecting link 9 ', or according to FIGS. 2 and 3 directly to the lateral saddle stilt 5. One revolution of the crankshaft 12 corresponds to a full stroke change. Two revolutions of the crankshaft 11 correspond to a full stroke change, so that the crankshaft 11 has twice the number of revolutions as the crankshaft 12.
The success that can be achieved with the agents according to the invention is as follows:
If the positions 4 and 1 of the crankshaft 12 coincide with the positions 4 'and 1' of the crankshaft 11, the intermediate lever 14 with the articulation point 16 remains at rest, which rest or holding period lasts approximately until the crankshaft 12 reaches position 2, wel -
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
before position corresponds to position 2 ′ of crankshaft 11.
Position 3, which follows position 2 of crankshaft 12, corresponds to position 3 ', which follows position 2' of crankshaft 11 and causes the drawer 6, 7 to move fully.
The reversal to point 4 of point 3 of crankshaft 12 corresponds to the reversal of point 4 'to point 3' of crankshaft 11 and causes the drawer to return fully. A period of standstill or rest time is reached with about 50% of the duration of the movement of the drawer, which corresponds to a full movement of the shooter. A higher loom speed can thereby be selected.
In addition to the above, the invention opens up a large number of possibilities for proportional changes between the eccentricities themselves and the eccentricities between the shop stilts and connecting links or intermediate levers, as is indicated by means of three possible embodiments.
