Adjustment device for photographic shutters
Adjustment devices for photographic shutters with a time curve carrier releasably connected to an adjustment ring are known. The purpose of separating the setting ring and the time curve carrier is simply to make the curve carrier easier to manufacture by punching. However, the setting curve is always definitely assigned to the ring, which means that the position of the curve in relation to the optical axis and the setting element itself is also determined during manufacture.
The known lens shutters can only be adjusted in steps so that the shutter speed can be adhered to as precisely as possible. In most cases, the time curve must also be reworked in the individual stages. When switching to the automatic control of exposure time and aperture, the step setting is disadvantageous in that you either have to preselect the time and then set the aperture or an incorrect exposure of at least half a light value occurs between the steps. The use of a continuous time control has so far failed, however, because reworking is made significantly more difficult in the case of continuous curves due to the rigid connection with the time setting ring.
A device for setting photographic shutters has also already been proposed, in which a carrier connected to an adjusting ring is provided for a continuously running and adjustable time control curve. In this known device, the curve is formed on a flexible and resilient part, the shape of which can be adjusted by numerous eccentrically rotatable pins. The disadvantage here is that deformation of the control cam is practically out of the question because of the elasticity of its material, so that the cam shape only has to be produced during assembly, which involves laborious adjustment work. Furthermore, the curve as a whole cannot be pivoted or shifted once it has been determined.
The device according to the invention avoids these disadvantages. With it, the entire control cam, as is the case with the non-adjustable and step-shaped control cams described in the introduction, is preformed on one or in several sections on several cam support parts. and these parts are then releasably connected to the setting ring, the connection of each of these parts to the setting ring being formed in a manner permitting the adjustment of the timing curve relative to the setting ring.
In this way, a much better and simpler compensation between the respective setpoint and the actual value of the time setting is made possible. In principle, minor deviations can also be eliminated in the usual way by subsequent revisions.
If the time control curve is formed on several curve support parts, these parts can be provided next to one another with abutting curve sections or in a manner known from control curves for the tracking of setting pointers in light meters, one above the other with overlapping curves.
In the context of the invention, it is possible to couple the setting ring, which adjusts the continuously formed timing curve, to a common setting for time and aperture and to make it movable with this over the entire setting range. The common setting range can be divided into two sections in which the shutter speed or the aperture is changed in each case, the continuously running and adjustable time control curve that is effective during the shutter adjustment being followed by a curve section concentric to the setting ring. Another difference between the embodiment according to FIG. 3 and those according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is that the time, like the aperture, is set continuously over the entire adjustment range. The change of time and aperture does not need to be made uniformly, but you can determine the change in every point and thus the curve shapes according to principles of experience. In this case, too, however, one will usually get by with an aperture curve 34 which is incorporated into the web la.
