Den Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung bildet eine weitere Ausgestaltung der durch das Patent Nr. 17610 geschützten Vorrichtung zum Ersatz der den Himmel und Hintergrund darstellenden Dekoration in Theatern u. dgl. Das Wesen der Erfindung besteht darin, dass die in bekannter Weise mit ihrer Krümmung den Zuschauern zugekehrte Kugel-oder ähnliche Fläche durch eine luftdichte Hülle gebildet wird, welche aus zwei mittels Bändern

Gestalt einer Kugel- oder ähnlichen Fläche annimmt. Weiters bezieht sich der Erfindugnsgegenstand auf eine Einrichtung zum Zusammenlegen der luftleeren Hülle und auf eine Vorrichtung, weiche das Entfernen der luftleeren Hülle von der Bohne in rascher Art ermöglicht.
Fig. 1 zeigt in schematischer Darstellung perspektivisch eine mit einem solchen Hintergrund ausgestattete Bühne, Fig. 2 und 3 Vorderansicht und vertikalen Mittelschnitt des Hintergrundes, Fig. 4 eine Seitenansicht, Fig. 5 den Hintergrund in zusammengeklapptem Zustande und Fig. 6 einen ähnlichen Schnitt, wie ihn'Fig. 1) zeigt, aber in grösserem Massstabe.
Die luftdichte Hülle besteht aus zwei Stoffflächen A A, welche durch Bänder B, die a) s Distanzhalter dienen und in entsprechender Entfernung voneinander angeordnet sind, derart in Verbindung stehen, dass, wenn die Hülle mit Luft aufgeblasen wird, die beiden Stoffflächen sich konzentrisch zueinander strecken und eine sphärische Gestalt annehmen, deren Wandstärke im allgemeinen der Länge der Bander B entspricht.
Wie Fig. 3 zeigt, setzt sich der Hintergrund aus einer Viertelkugel, deren ein Halbkreis auf dem Boden aufliegt, und einer Zylinderfläche zusammen, die sich an den vertikal stehenden Halbkreis anschliesst. Für das Ein-und Ausgehen der Schauspieler sind Offnungen J1 freigelassen. An den beiden Rändern ist die kugelige Hülle mit Armierung- ringen versehen, deren einer I wertikal und deren anderer J horizontal liegt und die an ihren Enden durch Scharniere K miteinander verbunden sind.
Wenn der Hintergrund in Verwendung treten soll, so wird die allseitig geschlossene
Hülle A A durch Einpressen von Luft mittelst eines ventilators oder auf irgendeine andere Weise aufgeblasen. Die Hülle nimmt alsdann die durch die Form der Stoffflächen bedingte Gestalt an. Wenn der Hintergrund grössere Dimensionen besitzt, so wird es not- wendig sein, auf das Gewicht des Stoffes Rücksicht zu nehmen, und man wird dann den
Hintergrund durch an dem vertikalen Armierungsring befestigte Seile unterstützen.

Wenn der Hintergrund ausser Tätigkeit gesetzt wird, so lässt man die Luft aus der Hülle A A ausströmen und zieht den horizontal auf dem Boden liegenden Armierungsring J gegen den vertikal stehenden 1 in die Höhe (Fig. 5), so dass die Hülle A A zusammengefaltet wird und nur mehr einen ganz geringen Raum einnimmt. Um dieses Zusammenklappen rasch bewirken zu können, ist es von Vorteil, den unteren Armierungsring J an durch Gegengewichte Q (Fig. 4) beschwerten Seilen zu befestigen.
Die hier beschriebene Konstruktion soll nur als Beispiel dienen und es ist klar, dass man auf Grund des hier erläuterten Prinzipes die mannigfachsten Ausführungsformen wird herstellen können.
