Process for the manufacture of a phylloxera-killer.
The subject of the present invention is a method for producing an agent which is intended to destroy the phylloxera and to promote the growth of the contaminated vine. The process essentially consists in pouring hot water over Icelandic moss, ergot and deadly nightshade, leaving the mass to ferment and boiling it through and pressing it after fermentation, whereupon ammonium carbonate dissolved in soft water is mixed into the pressed liquid and finally gas water and chloroform are added and is thoroughly mixed again.
An advantageous and practical embodiment of the method is the following:
EMI1.1
Pour 100 liters of boiling water over it and then let the whole mixture stand so that it begins to ferment. During the fermentation process, these plant substances release those components that kill phylloxera. After fermentation, the mass is boiled in a cauldron for about three hours and then the liquid part is pressed into a closable vessel using a suitable press. Now a solution of 6 kg of carbonate of ammonium in 10 / soft water (preferably rain-

Ammonium salts have already been proposed as a means of eradicating phylloxera.
The purpose of the addition of ammonium carbonate in the present process is not to increase the destructive effect on phylloxera, but instead the ammonium carbonate acts as a fertilizer to strengthen the contaminated vine in addition to the phytotoxins which kill phylloxera. Chloroform and gas water are also known to be used to kill insects. The use of chloroform alone is, however, impractical, since it destroys not only the insects but also the plants. Added to the phylloxera pesticide in the specified manner with gas water, increased

For use, 1 l of this liquid is mixed with 80 l of liquid manure and this liquid is used to water the contaminated vines.
