len, which consists of a core layer made of chipboard or fibrous material, which is covered on both sides by synthetic resin-soaked and homogeneously connected to the core layer decals, which are combined with the core layer by pressing with simultaneous curing of the synthetic resins. The cover layers can be provided with a pattern, picture or text imprint. In the case of small trays, the plate 1 can consist of a plastic coating even without a special core layer.
The plate 1 preferably has an edge profile which has an outward curvature at all points.
The plate 1 is surrounded by a border profile 2 which has the groove 3 on the inside for the entry of the edges of the plate 1. On the outside, the border profile 2 is provided with a corrugation 4, which serves as slip protection. To make it easier to grasp the tray, the lower surface of the

or the recesses 5 or in combination with these, support body 6 made of rubber or a rubber-like material can be arranged on the underside of the plate or the border profile 2, which protrude over the lower boundary of the border profile 2 downwards, so that when the tray is placed Underside of the edging profile 2 runs at a distance above the installation surface (Fig. 1 and 2).
In the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 3 and 4, the plate 1 and the border profile 2 ′ are assigned to one another in such a way that the border profile 2 ′ protrudes on both sides over the plate 1 like a board.
The latter forms a usable area on both sides, which is formed identically or differently on both sides, for example with different images, fonts, patterns and / or colors. In this exemplary embodiment, the border profile 2 'is designed in cross section symmetrical to the groove in the manner of a flat ellipse, as illustrated in FIG. 5. The embodiment of the example according to FIGS. 3 and 4 allows the tray to be used on both sides by using one or the other side by turning the tray, the individual sides being tastefully adapted to the purpose of the respective side.
The border profile 2, 2 'is made of a linear profile body made of warm. malleable or rubber-like plastic designed, which takes advantage of its thermoplastic or rubber-like

Front faces at xix are connected to form an endless ring. The connection at the joint x / x can be brought about in a simple manner by using weldable plastics for the edging profile 2, 2 ', which allow a homogeneous welding of the mutually abutting end faces.
If non-weldable plastics are used, the welded connection can be replaced by an adhesive bond, which when using suitable solvents or adhesives

As a result of the small plastic, sufficient widening of the border profile 2, 2 'is possible in order to be able to slide it over the plate 1 in such a way that the latter enters the inner groove 3 of the border profile 2, 2'. If thermoformable plastics are used for the production of the edging profile 2, 2 ', which at normal temperatures do not have sufficient elasticity to be stretched over the plate 1, a slight warming of such edging profiles 2, 2' is sufficient in order to be slipped onto the plate 1 enable.
Such edging profiles shrink as they cool down in such a way that the plate 1 enters its inner groove 3. As a result of the outwardly curved edge course of the plate 1, there is a guarantee that the edging profile 2, 2 ′ lies snugly against the edge of the plate 1 at all points.
The method according to the invention is not limited to the production of trays, be it. Household or craft trays, it can rather be used for all objects that consist of a plate with a border profile that accommodates its edges. Shells are mentioned for this, e.g. B. as pencil trays, filing baskets, plates of serving trolleys, table tops, especially for tables in vehicles, furniture plates or other objects.
