  Verbandstoffe.

  Dressings.

The absorbent bandages forming the subject of the invention consist of a number of loosely superimposed sparse tissues which are united by the weft threads either only at the edges or also at points corresponding to the width of the respective desired bandage strips. In the latter case, by cutting the dense connecting strips at the edges, connected strips of fabric made of loosely superimposed thin tissues are obtained.

Tricot tubes and tubular fabrics have already been used as bandages, but these fabrics were not hydrophilic, so that * they were used for those purposes
 EMI1.1

These innovative bandages not only have the advantage that the layers of fabric that are not lying on top of one another cannot shift to one another and that the patient's uncomfortable wrinkling, which often occurs when several strips of fabric are placed on top of one another, are avoided, but the sparse layers of fabric greedily suck in moisture .

The number of loose fabric layers woven around the edges can be any number.
